Typical food to any road side services, but the view is something to die for. I don't think it's over priced with its distance from other places, fairly priced but isn't exceptional. A very good stop off truth be told.

Called in this morning, and was quite surprised it was still open in November. As always a delicious and value for money breakfast. Don't listen to the moaners, Hartside Top has been going since at least the 1960's I think, and the interior maybe could do with a spruce up, but it's an iconic café and long may it last.... More

We called in on Sunday and decided to have full English breakfasts and a cup of tea each ,just under £18 for the 2 of us ,so looking around at the interior and cleanliness of the place the price was more than enough ,the portions were good but the quality of the bacon and sausage were terrible ,the bacon was... Great resting point. Food is spot on and always a friendly vibe. Should stay open later through the week especially in summer!

Had morning tea on our way to Lake District. Best cheese scone I've had in the UK. The place is motorbike crazy and apparently tends to cater to that group (judging by previous comments I've read. The whole place is basic although we found it to be generally clean and tidy and it had a top food rating. However, the... More

went on a sunday 2 weeks ago, had a great lunch. Took the family and even though it was busy we got seats. Lots of bikers in but nice crowd. The service was fast, meals tasty, and well priced. Will go again.

Great potential, but not friendly to wet cyclists, insisting we sat on plastic bin liners. Seemed a bit odd as they didn't seem to be so worried about customers wearing sopping wet motorbike gear! as a biker and a cyclist I found this disappointing. Its an obvious stop off for both, so why not embrace cyclists and even offer a... More

The Hartside Top Cafe is well located for anyone passing over Hartside Summit, and is a particularly welcome stop for cyclists! The views from the cafe are exceptional which is probably one of the best points. The food and drinks are fairly standard, but are perhaps slightly pricy, however this is to be expected given the location. Overall, I would... More
