Stayed in Kendal for 3 nights and ended up eating here every night. The carvery was good value for money and very nice. Had food of the alocart menu two nights. It's was fast and efficient service. With the added bonus of great pub food.

Called in around 1815 after a lovely day in Kendal - was told the Carvery had finished yet there was lots of food left. We sat at a table and ordered off the menu then just as the food came a group of 8 lads...More

I have now left Kendal to live at the other side of the country. Will it be the stunning views , will it be the rain, or will it be the wonderful steak, onion rings and parsnip crisps I will miss the most? It will...More

We've been here a couple of times and the food never disappoints. We took my husband's grandparents here and the waiting staff were really patient with us when we were being seated. We were also a little bit late and were grateful that we weren't...More

Had pre-booked a table at Romney's for an anniversary meal after reading plenty of reviews. The table we were given appeared to have been squeezed into the restaurant as one chair was in the aisle and whenever the staff rushed through with food orders they...More

One of the best places to visit in kendal for food and drink with a varied selection of alcohol. Also a great selection of cask ales. The food served is brilliant and a carvery served every day...

Great meal well presented and served by friendly efficient staff. Only negative the humidity as the bar restaurant full and no ventilation marred the experience slightly I guess this is not an issue on nice days as doors would be left open

Its a long walk to oxenhome station, Taxis are usually parked both sides of the station, my guess is fare would be between £5-£10.

Of course you can, and there are high chairs available. I am uncertain of the times but a quick call to Romney's should put you right.
