We visited here as a group of twelve friends on a weekend trip to Kendal. No expectations as I hadn't chosen the venue and did not know where we had booked. Great choice though! Very varied menu - there was something for everyone. We had all travelled from different locations so some had eaten earlier in the evening and only... More

Met up with a friend for lunch. I had not been to this venue for over a year and must say it looked a lot brighter. Food was excellent and the venue is still very cosy. Their soups were great.

We have eaten an evening meal here twice over the last month and have been impressed on both occasions. The new chef has definitely improved the menu and standard of food. On both occasions we had padron peppers to start along monchego cheese rarebit and seafood popcorn, all of which were good sized portions and very tasty. We have also... More

We visited the Grainstore for a small family gathering. The menu was really interesting and the food, when it arrived, was really top-notch. I've given it 5 stars because we really enjoyed the meal and will definitely go back and sample more things from that menu. It was flavoursome, creative and extremely well presented. Between us we sampled the chorizo... More

A bit of a last-minute decision to try the "new" Grainstore restaurant at the Brewery Arts Centre. Really hard to see what had changed in the decor following the recent relaunch. Perhaps a bit more room. It wasn't busy the night we went yet they had put all the diners in one corner of the restaurant which made us feel... More

Visited on a Sunday afternoon after seeing a show in the theatre. Chose the venue to eat due to location. We had to ask for children's menu when it was clear we had children with us. A Christmas meal option would have been nice for December (this was our annual grandparents Christmas meal out). We asked for two children's menus... More

Went to the grainstore for a family 21st birthday - had a fantastic meal with great service. We had a big party of approximately 15 people and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. A few of us had food of the new menu - pork belly was amazing. Will definitely be back to try something else new very soon.

Lovely meal had by all four of us. Two had the ever popular pizza. One had the trio of mini burgers which were cooked to perfection, juicey and tasty. One had the special of belly pork which looked like it had come from a fine dining restaurant and tasted as if it had. Back on the list of where to... More

The Brewery is one of my favourite places so it only seemed right to go for my 40th - there were 20 of us and all of our pizzas tasted great, were hot and delivered at the same time. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff (both in the run up to the celebration e.g. cake delivery etc.) and... More

Being local & a regular visitor to the Brewery Art Centre I recently went for a meal to celebrate my 82nd birthday with a £50 voucher given by my daughters. On paying for the meal at £42 I was told no change will be given so my £8 was confiscated. I was also told if I'd only spent £20 the... More

Brewery Hospitality: There’s a great choice of eating and drinking at the Brewery – something for every taste. The Brewery has somewhere to eat all day, every day of the week. In the Day: The Warehouse: a relaxed lounge, serving a range of drinks from Farrer’s specialty teas to bottles of local Hawkshead ale. It also serves the best latte in town. Eat locally made cakes, homemade scones and soups. In the Evening: The Vats Bar & Grainstore: Our extraordinary bar and restaurant serve a range of superb beers, wines and spirits and serve the famous Brewery Pizzas and our fabulous ‘Brewery Tapas’.
