Excellent coffee. Piping hot and just how I like it. You have to look out for Emmas as it's well hidden. A gem of a place.

Lovely atmosphere in one of Kendals old yards. Friendly service and excellent home-made scones. The cakes looked delicious too! Very reasonable prices.

Even the ancient front door entices you into this old, comfortable dog-friendly café. What a welcome retreat on a cold, rainy day in Kendal. A cosy fire and delicious home-cooked food with friendly staff and just a lovely atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend this café.

You've got to look for Emma's 'cos it's inside a small alleyway off Branthwaite Brow and there's just a small pointy sign at the alleyway entrance. Was walking around for some time in Kendal to find a nice quiet spot and tucked away down a little side street was a very nice quiet cafe. Lovely courtyard at the side and room inside. Friendly staff and tasty food. Definitely recommend and will drop by again when in Kendal.

Had lunch outside in the courtyard, a little sheltered suntrap. We had our little dog with us and they even brought her a biscuit! Friendly service and excellent food.

Lovely cafe, quiet, good for catching up with friends. Lovely cakes, excellent coffee. Has become my cafe of choice if friends and I need to talk, very quiet classical background music which is lovely to listen to if waiting.

Popped in for coffee and cake, the chocolate and ale loaf was exceptional, together with friendly staff made our day out in Kendal worthwhile.

the cafe is atmospheric with a small downstairs room complete with wood burner and a larger upstairs area where you can sit and talk for hours without being disturbed. They always have a nice range of cakes and biscuits and can easily rustle up a snack to suit your needs.

The café is situated in a yard just in the centre of Kendal. Its worth looking for as the food is good and general feel of the place is relaxing. The yard is a nice area to sit in when its sunny. The staff where friendly and helpful.
