I always worry about lunch in cafes and restaurants in honeypot locations like Grasmere, but that was completely needless in this case. Despite this being a busy service, we quickly got a table on the terrace overlooking the river and church. The menu was really...More

We had a lovely lunch at the Grasmere Tea Rooms with a fantastic view. Soup and cake both lovely. The only negative was that we saw flies buzzing around the cake counter which was a little off putting.More

Hi Anastasia, Thank you for the nice comments. Unfortunately, this time of year the flies and wasps are unavoidable given that either we leave the front and terrace doors open to get some fresh air, or people don't close the doors behind them. Welcome to...More

Popped in here for a pit stop after an open top bus ride to Grasmere from Bowness on Windermere. Lovely tea room with plenty of choice of beverages, savoury food and sweets. Pot of tea for two, clotted cream/ jam scone and a slice of...More

Stopped off in Grasmere and stumbled across this lovely tearoom, enjoyed a good cuppa on the terrace by the river overlooking the church. It's nicely decorated with friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Would highly recommend it.

Hi Taffy, I'm afraid I had a little trouble understanding your review. I'm not sure if you are disapproving of the fact that we gave you more tea than you paid for? We would have been happy to provide you with more water if you...More

We only had a short stop in Grasmere on our tour. The Tea Gardens had a fair selection of sandwiches, paninis and soups...nothing spectacular but tasty. A good choice when in town.

The outdoor seating is good, by the river, if you can find a table, and if the weather is ok... it is partly covered though. Teacakes were rather average, not the 'home-made' country style you may expect. Service very good though, and tables well spaced...More

Hi Izzie, Thank you for taking the time to leave some nice comments. Because we sell far more scones than teacakes, we have opted to have those be homemade instead of teacakes that then go to waste. I do hope you visit us again soon,...More

Description
The Grasmere Tea Gardens provides a lovely respite after a long walk up the fells, or a quick enjoyable stop over for diverse coach parties. We offer an array of homemade soups, sandwiches, paninis, chilli, and jacket potatoes, as well as home baked cakes and scones. As well as a variety of teas and coffees, we serve a selection of cold beer and wine, and yummy soft serve ice-cream. Our staff provide quick and friendly service for those on a tight schedule, or beautiful views, rain or shine, from our outdoor terrace, overlooking the Grasmere Church and famous grave site of poet William Wordsworth.
