Amazing rarebit

It is a little on the pricey side but the rarebit here was delicious. Generous pot of tea and a nice ambience despite the looming 2nd lockdown.

Fantastic cafe with attention to detail

We’ve just enjoyed a fantastic lunch at this café. The lady was extremely attentive to all our requirements and the food was absolutely gorgeous. There’s a great choice of tasty soups all home-made and lots of other delicious things to choose from. This is how...all cafés should be. Well done. We would highly recommend and if we return to Coniston we would definitely return in a heartbeat.More

The Owner Cares

I had previously written a critical review of The Green Housekeepers Cafe, not because of the food or service (which were very good) but because the food was served in plastic containers due to Covid and on the day of my visit there was also...a problem with flies. I have since removed this review as the owner has taken on board the feedback and now serves the food and drink in crockery, which makes for a much better experience. The owner clearly cares about her customers enough to respond politely to each review and also take feedback seriously (where others may be defensive). This is a real positive in my book and we will surely return.More

Poor

Had 2 cream tea. Came on cardboard chip tray to eat off. And cardboard cups, to drink from, very disappointed. Scones, Coffee and tea lovely and fresh. Presentation let it down. No need even during covid.More

Small but perfectly formed

Lovely little cafe. Extremely good food but with a limited menu due to the pandemic. Food and drink served in/on disposal plates/cups which may put some people off. Lovely friendly service. My husband and I will certainly be visiting again.More

Lunch visit

Small little cafe, both had toastie bread was very thick good overall. However there were no plates and the toasties were served in tin foil and the drinks in single use plastic cup. It was unclear if these were recyclable.More

Perfect Pit Stop in Coniston

Stopped here for a much needed lunch. We were warmly welcomed, enjoyed a huge pot of tea (with a cosy!), and an epic cheese toastie. A great little cafe in the village, well located, and 10 mins walk from the lake shore. A great range...of food and homemade cakes.More

While camping at Lake District

Group of ours (12 people) where camping in the area and happened to find this cute little place. Soups, home made bread, butter, wrap, English breakfast, cream tea with home made strawberry jam - amazing! Service was very friendly and warm but still professional, made...us feel very welcomed.
