On a cold wet November day we were greeted by a warm smile, served a great fish and chip lunch, the pud was not really needed but really enjoyed Would go again.

We didn’t plan on coming here but stopped after spotting the lunchtime offers. We both had the saffron battered cod, homemade chips and tartare sauce. Much better quality than you’re average pub. The sticky toffee dessert was delicious but very sweet. Very good service and...More

Had a nice meal here on a rainy day! We thought the food and the service were of a good standard but not stand out....if you want a nice pub meal then this is the place to go!

My husband and I popped in this evening and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service and food were both excellent- and price was very reasonable! Would highly recommend.

We were a group of 10 turning up without prior booking. They were very accommodating. There was a good choice of menu, ample and well presented.

Plucky to be able to get a table here at short notice. An interesting and varied menu featuring local and seasonal food. Obviously trying hard. The menu had just changed when we were there so the staff weren't yet fully familiar with the dishes. They...More

The Priest Hole Restaurant and Tea Rooms are part of Kelsick Old Hall, one of the oldest buildings in the beautiful village of Ambleside in the centre of the English Lake District. With many original features the atmosphere may not be edible, but it does play a huge part in your dining enjoyment, and our friendly young team work hard in a refreshingly casual, but attentive way, to provide a relaxed and enjoyable experience. We are happy to accept single diners and large groups. We have a delightful outside terrace for alfresco meals on those warmer days, or just to sit and have a coffee and watch the world go by. (Dogs welcome on the terrace.) Seperate dining area for special occassion group dining.
