Typical Morrocan food served in comfortable surroundings. Possibly a bit close to other diners but this added to the friendly atmosphere (providing of course you're comfortable with the adjacent diners ....) Very friendly and helpful staff

It seems to be a little difficult to find somewhere to eat in Canterbury on a Monday night - but we were pleased to note that Cafe Mauresque was open for business. The restaurant is divided into two dining rooms - the main area being downstairs, while upstairs is a comfortable cafe-style area with low wooden chairs and Moorish decoration.... More

Booked on their website 7.30pm on a Saturday night, we sat in the basement of the restaurant which was full up with a good atmosphere , good decor and good staff. We had tapas to start followed by Lamb Shank& Paella, all was delicious. The food with bottle of red 1 beer & a coke came to £83. Would recommend.

Dark moody Moroccan style setting. Low level carpet style seating reminiscent of the "casbah". Tagines delicious especially the lamb one. Kebabs also very tasty. The little tapas style starters are quite filling so don't order too many otherwise you won't want to finish the mains which means the deserts are then out of the equation. Nice for a cheap quick lunchtime... More

This restaurant had fantastic Moroccan furniture, lanterns and fretwork giving it a lovely atmosphere. Staff were helpful and efficient. The food was fine but lacked authenticity. The chicken tagine with preserved lemons lacked the depth of spicing and sweetness and came super hot and slightly overcooked. The fish sharing starter gave us a chance to try 6-7 different dishes which... More

Do not be put off by the slightly dull exterior: this is - as their A-board says - a place for food lovers. The menu was inviting and we decided to go with a sharing platter followed by the highly recommended seafood paella. All the dishes were full of flavour and tasty. Service was relaxed and attentive. It was a... More
