Extremely overpriced. Definitely NOT Italian. Very loud as well-It’s frequently populated by groups (e.g. corporate socials). Good cocktails I guess.

Had some great food which was really tasty and plentiful. The staff were lovely. The only downside were certain guests. I don't mind anyone having a good time, but we all want to, rather than them enjoying themselves selfishly and the rest of us suffering....More

Booked by e mail, straight forward. Family meal, sons birthday. He lives in the area so suggested the venue. Really tasty food, enjoyed the spring roll starter and pork with crackling main course, very nice indeed. Excellent surroundings and pleasant staff. Would return.

Despite having booked online several weeks in advance and having mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday we were shown to a cramped table squashed between the entrance and the bar. This did not get the evening off to a good start! However, the staff...More

No dress code as such beyond suitable for mixed company. Relaxed to smart - whatever suits the occasion.

Description
Cafe du Soleil is situated beside the river Stour in Canterbury occupying a former 18th century wool store and is accessed by its own bridge over the river. The building was restored with a grant from English Heritage and showcases the extensive use of reclaimed building material from the 14C city wall. Our cuisine draws influence from Provence in southern France, and from Italy, to create a modern Mediterranean cuisine. The menu changes with the seasons, and much of our food is cooked in our wood burning oven, fed with locally sourced wood from managed forest.
