We had an excellent dinner for 4 last Saturday night having gone on the recommendation of a friend who said it was the best in town; she is right. The dishes were full of flavour and the collection of desserts at £25 is pretty special....More

Our visit was utterly dominated by the appalling attitude of our pretty diminutive waitress whose boyfriend must be a masochist, assuming the unwelcome brand of moody cutlery slamming she brings to the restaurant is what she dishes up at home. Compounded by surliness and (wilful?)...More

My girlfriend and I visited for Saturday dinner. After waiting far too long in the bar for pre-dinner to be served, we were generally happy with the meal. However, the cheese board (which was fairly ordinary) came with "home made" biscuits which had clearly been...More

History: THOMPSON@Darcys the restaurant was formerly a row of four cottages predating the 2nd World War. The gates that flank the outside of the restaurant were produced by the Iron work shop here in 1979. The plot was finally converted to a restaurant in 1983.

Restaurant style: Today the restaurant offers a relaxed, fun and affordable fine dining experience. You will find us a modern, vibrant and busy restaurant, with each room offering a different feel and atmosphere without the pretence of formal dining.

What is Fine Dining? Fine dining usually brings dress code, etiquette and expensive to the forefront of most people’s minds. None of that applies to us at THOMPSON@Darcy’s, although we do have crisp, white tablecloths, at the request of our customers. However, OUR focus is the finest food and ingredients, creativity and taste sensations unique to THOMPSON@Darcy’s. Our service is attentive but not invasive, our staff impeccably mannered and our atmosphere relaxed, all of which contribute to an outstanding culinary experience, so that our guests leave feeling pampered and special.

Menus, Availability & Pricing: Our menus are ever changing, dictated by the seasons; Phil Thompson combines his classic training, culinary style and flavour combinations with his own modern twist.
