As always the service was good but the fish & Chips poor - raw Chips and overcooked fish. Batter just disintegrated. Stir fry chilli chicken-noodles sloppy & poor.

With a short visit to St Albans we chose this place for lunch. And we didn't regret it. I love local pubs like this. With even a nice fireplace we had a great time here with some food and beer. I personally had the beer...More

Four of us had a great evening in the Six Bells. I had been using the place regularly until a year ago, when I stopped after 2 disappointing meals, so I wasn't that keen on going. Glad to find that it is back on form!...More

Nice old pub in a pretty part of St Albans. Had lunch there and it couldn't be faulted. My companion had liver and bacon - rather oddly served in a bowl, but it's the food that matters! I had chicken and mushroom pie - lots...More

Went there a few weeks ago for lunch. It was freezing cold ouside but nice and cosy inside, the fire place is a nice touch. Loved all the well behaved doggies that are allowed in. Food was tasty and staff friendly. Nice deco. Next time...More

I have visited the six bells many times but on the last few occasions feel that the food has really gone downhill. On Mother's Day the roast lunch was the best I have ever had in a pub but the last two visits paper thin...More

We hadn''t booked and got together with family for a last minute Christmas meal. We had our dog with us, a young baby and a gentleman with a learning disability. We were made extremely welcome and the staff accommodated us in their restaurant. The service...More

We welcome well behaved dogs in our main bar and extension areas as well as in our newly refurbished garden. Maybe you could get them a treat off of our new 'a la bark' dog treat menu! We look forward to seeing you.

Description
Great pub in the centre of St. Michaels village offering everything one would want from a "local". Can't believe it's not one unless the owners have requested so.
