One of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had out. Beef was excellently cooked and the beer on tap was great. Would be 5 stars if there was table service (although bar service was quick and friendly).

Always a great standard of food, always an amazing choice on two slightly differing blackboard menus. Sometimes can get a little noisy with the big tables but there are some smaller tables available in the quieter cosy end. Good choice of beers. Nice garden on...More

Went there for Sunday lunch after reading reviews. Very busy with every table taken and long queues at the bar for drinks. £15:95 for main course of roast beef (which was very difficult to cut) 2 potatoes ,one parsnip and piece of broccoli with cold...More

Went with friends for a pre-booked Sunday lunch. Even though we got there at 12.15 pm it was very busy with a long wait at the bar to get served. Our reserved table was adjacent to the bar so there was lots of passing 'traffic'....More

I last visited this pleasant country inn some 25 years ago when the landlord was a former school colleague of mine. The return was a pleasant experience. Being Saturday it was not surprisingly busy, and that with the nearby Agricultural College still closed for the...More

This is probably the best country pub we have visited while driving right round the UK. It is beautiful to look at, but has a genuine welcoming and a warm atmosphere when you enter. The staff are really friendly and happy to chat. The food...More

Went for a family Sunday lunch for a birthday. The £15.95 price tag for the roast beef sets a high expectation that only lead to disappointment... when you have to get up and order at the bar, the portion isn't very generous, no extra vegetables...More

Visited the Plough with a group of friends and like my last review I have nothing but praise for the food at this establishment. The menu is extensive, and sure to be able to cater for all tastes. The staff are very pleasant and we...More

They do. We have 3 kids now aged between 14 and 9 but have dined here over a number of years with them. There is also a good space for them to run off energy outside.
