Close to College street, this pub is clean with friendly staff. My husband said the beer was very good as was the wine list choice! We both had a sandwich lunch with fries sat at our school desks. Walking sticks hanging on the ceiling, why, I...More

Lovely pub, really nice ambience. Food was top notch and the service was better. Our server William was very attentive and personifies what one expects when one thinks of the hospitality industry. Very good overall.

We had a group of 16 dining on a Saturday night. Staff were very good and food excellent. Pub is old style with lots of quirky rooms and artefacts. Good beer choice.

Looks like an ordinary old style pub until you get to the restaurant. The walls are covered with photos, sketches, prints tankards and certificates. The staff are friendly and checked that we had no food allergies. The menu is varied. The food was great.

A delicious meal with great wine(s) served by attentive friendly staff. The home made oak cakes with the cheese were brilliant. Loved it all. Would highly recommend.

Absolute gem of a place. Not bedecked in beechwood and chrome, a place with some character and and a sense of history. Lovely staff, great food, great drinks, polite fellow customers, perfectly happy just reading my book over a pint, feels perfectly normal in here.

After meaning to come for some time due to friend's recommendation, finally made it. The pub has a fantastic ambience, properly old and cosy, the quintessential English Inn. Overall a positive experience, my steak was cooked to perfection and the desserts were wonderful. The service...More
