Lovely location, but terrible menu, service and food. Went there for lunch as it’s nice to sit outside by the river. Had to sit in the smoking area as the garden area wasn’t available. The menu was severely lacking, the previous owners had lunch type...More

Brought here for lunch with a good group of friends. Very friendly service and cozy ambience. Delicious beer on tap. We had hake and fish pie - absolutely delicious!

We visited the Mayfly for the second time last Saturday. I posted after the first visit that a nice meal had been rather spoilt by slow service and lengthy queues to order. The manager explained then of a staff shortage and of the pub having...More

With the massively busy day on Saturday (because the sun came out) I was immensely impressed with the standard and speed of service considering they were understaffed and swamped. Massively friendly staff and manager.

Excellent service and engaging and intelligent conversation from the young waiters. The food was good and not bad value at all for a very scenic location. Would highly recommend!

Good beer; extensive menu; easy parking; magnificent setting with garden next to the river -albeit that it poured with rain throughout our stay! It gets very busy and booking is essential. Young waiting staff laid back and charming. Children to grandparents were well satisfied. We...More

We have a severe coeliac who works at the Mayfly so we are very aware of this illness, and eighty per cent of our menu is gluten free, we even have gluten free Yorkshire puds for the Sunday roasts.
