Went recently. Very impressed with downstairs old fashioned pub and saloon. Plenty of choice and well stocked bar. Good selection of draught beers. Food - OK but mediocre. Not as exciting as the menu suggests. Overall a nice place for a drink and opposite the...More

Attended a function there where we were very well looked after. Pleasant and efficient staff and the buffet, whilst relatively standard, was well presented and very tasty.

We decided to have a sandwich lunch here and were quite disappointed. We normally visit another pub in Winchester so were able to compare the two pubs. The sandwiches here were average and the total bill for sandwiches and wine was a lot more expensive....More

Enjoyed the Green Man for drinks and large group occasions before (various back rooms can cater for groups). Came for food with two friends, and the experience was great, staff friendly and competent. Downstairs has some booths and alcoves and nice dark lighting, upstairs more...More

Booked The Outhouse for my 60th birthday bash. Highly recommended - lovely intimate characterful venue - professional, friendly and flexible staff who really helped to make the event special. Thank you Grace!

I'm afraid we don't have a car park on site but we're just a short walk away from the Tower Street car park off the High Street. There is also some short-stay parking available on some of the surrounding roads.

Description
The Green Man is so much more than a pub. It is a little enclave of hospitality; a stylish hang-out, and a great meeting place for friends, family or an intimate tete-a-tete.

At The Green Man we specialise in locally sourced produce, resulting in an array of interesting and scrumptious dishes.  All of that, coupled with lovely, bubbly staff and wonderfully welcoming service, makes The Green Man a rather special place to be.

Come and join us in our eclectic retro furnished bar. Enjoy a great choice of beers, an impressive and very well researched wine list (hic!), and our specialty cocktails, not forgetting of course our rather unique boutique spirits list.

We're just a stone's throw away (4 minutes to be precise) from the historic Winchester Cathedral, surrounded by culture, and noted as a hidden gem in the old capital of England. Not only do we have a very cool and relaxing bar area, but we also have an exquisite Edwardian style dining room, which is the perfect place for a Sunday roast or destination dinner. And if you are looking for that special venue for your forthcoming event then our Outhouse is a quirky mixture of rustic and industrial style; ideal for birthday's, afternoon tea's and specialty vintage weddings.
