We stayed very close to Gunwharf Quays. Great place for shopping. We just went there to pass the time waiting for our ferry to France. Wound up buying £300 worth of things that we needed and would have paid lots more for elsewhere. Eating is not a problem with most of the typical city centre restaurant chains having tables there.... It's local so an obvious choice to get to France. Have used it quite a few times for motorcycle crossings to continent without any problems. If you come back to Portsmouth at night the city looks great illuminated so get out on the deck to see Portsmouth at night. Looks like a great city to visit, or live in.

Large, airy, light, departure hall, although not enough seats when school parties are travelling. Easy parking for foot passengers on the ferries. Staff friendly and helpful. Well signposted.

Very basic, but with loos,a coffee dispenser, newsstand and money exchange, it contained all that was necessary for a brief stop.

You have to queue to get ahead and sometimes to get to the "Heads" (nautical term). As has been pointed out in other Reviews, you have to line up before you can get anywhere and this is particularly true of Ferry Terminals. At Portsmouth even if one gets there early in the line at a check-in kiosk further delays await.... More

Not worth going upstairs for grossly overpriced Costa Coffee and snacks, with equally overpriced alcoholic drinks at the bar. The only redeeming feature is the view of the port.

This facility is sterile and devoid of atmosphere. The seats and wide open spaces are akin to an airport lounge. There is a Costa Coffee shop, but this is usually staffed by one person, meaning there is a long wait, even if you are the only customers. The toilets are very clean.

You see - you've got to get in! We arrived at the terminal, and joined the queue. We were early, and had driven four hours. "The loo" was in demand, and I walked to the ferry terminal building. 'Boarding Card Needed' was on the sign, so I went back to the car and got my boarding card. I joined others... More

New ferry terminal is really smart, spacious and clean with Costa coffee places, eateries and more. So much better than the old place...
