Faultless food - the flavours and quality of ingredients are perfect. Service is attentive without being in your face. Excellent wine list with a range of offerings and prices. I love the fact that despite this being a quality restaurant there’s not a whiff of...pretentiousness. If you want to wear jeans and a shirt or full medals and tiaras everyone is welcome and treated beautifully.More

My partner and I visited Restaurant 27 last night for my 50th birthday. A brilliant meal, the tasting menu is superb. Stunning presentation, and each dish better than the last! The highlight for me was the amazing goose with hazelnut and sunflower seeds, matched with...amontillado! Probably the most delicious thing I have ever eaten! Chef Kevin Bingham is a genius! The wine flight was also superb, each wine perfectly matched each course, and it was all served by a friendly, professional and unobtrusive front of house team. If I could give 11 out of 10 I would! Thank you to the whole team for a fantastic and truly memorable birthday meal. We will definitely be returning!More

Really enjoyed our first visit here after often intending to book. It's not cheap but great value for money, the tasting menu was superb, great flavours and presentation. Very attentive staff, but loved the relaxed laid back atmosphere, great dining doesn't have to be overly...posh dining.More

We had a wonderful meal here, service and food was impeccable and the wine pairings were excellent. I particularly liked the smoked haddock croquette and the dessert was so good, I could have eaten another (and we don’t normally like desserts). We have eaten at...several Michelin starred restaurants, including those with 2 and 3 stars but enjoyed this more than one or two of those. It’s such a shame we don’t live locally, or we would be here a lot! Planning another trip South soon and definitely would eat here again. There still is no place on a passion fruit, chocolate and coconut dessert for coriander though :-)More

Visited the restaurant with my wife on the occasion of our anniversary. We had the Taster menu and wine flight. The tastes and flavours of the food and accompanying wines were a very good match, with each course explained by very informative and friendly staff....It was a great meal but not the outstanding experience that we expected after hearing from friends that had been and recommended the restaurant. The lack of dress code was disappointing and affected the ambience.More

From being greeted at the door by a charming maitre d' to the last delicious portion of food, this is an exceptional experience. The staff are professional and knowledgeable. The ambience is warm and inviting and the decor is classy and stylish. The food exceeded...our expectations (which are high) and each course was superb. The talented chef's use of complex flavour combinations is outstanding. Every course was exciting and delicious. A clever chef and professional staff gave us an amazing culinary experience. Excellent.More

Good service on Sunday Lunch, with great cooking. I would suggest replacing the smoked mackerel and bass with other fish eg brill, john dory, megrim. Most bass stocks are not in a very healthy state.
