Lovely friendly pub to have a drink and a chat. Small, intimate bar, well run. No longer a restaurant and all the better for it. Ladies can feel they can visit on their own with no hassle. Love it!

Now in the hands of its owners and recently refurbished at long last this is now a great little pub. Comfortable and cosy bar. Open fire. Professional landlady who knows her trade. Excellent cask ales and local ciders. Even a lager for those that want it. Shuts by 9:30pm apart from Saturdays - 10:30pm. Swearing not allowed. Regular clientele.

Lovely little pub in the heart of the village - very welcoming - options on some beer / cider that couldn't fault - log fire - basically a pub I'd go back to and recommend to whoever asked. Proper pub.

Very friendly, grounded, welcome into a quirky small but intimate bar with a log fire going and some good hand drawn rural / cartoon artwork on the walls. The Tribute ale was good, and the Cornish lager was fine too. A shame no food as yet but there are plans to re purpose a further area of the pub. Toilets... More

This pub has changed hands a couple of times over the last couple of years and is now a micro beer and cider pub. No longer the steak pub it used to be. But what a cracking little pub it is now. 3 or 4 local real ales, always in great form and same of cider. Get there early though,... More

Having studied the reviews of the Pear Tree on Trip Advisor my girlfriend and I decided it was worth a visit for an evening meal. Expectations were fairly high given the positive reviews we had read, but unfortunately reality didn't live up to those expectations. As indicated in the overall rating above, the word 'average' describes all aspects of the... More

I had been here twice previous to my last visit during last summer and its a shame that unfortutely it has gone very downhill as I recommended it previously. I last visited in December with two workmates when we popped in for tea after work (6pm on a weekday night), we were the only people in there and felt the... More
