I brought my wife to Amore Mio to celebrate a milestone birthday and we were VERY happy with this choice! The staff were excellent, as weel as the food, and to top off the dinner, they played "Happy Birthday" over the music system, and got the rest of the customers to join them in singing Happy Birthday to my wife while presenting her with some of their famous gelato topped with a candle. Plus, they had Italian music playing as the background music, which too many ethnic restaurants don't do and that always takes away from the mood & feel for what they are serving and the authenticity of their cuisine. Amore Mio NAILED in ALL categories for us - Thank you!

I understand the economics of running a small restaurant. You can't afford to have a large wait staff because it cuts into your profits. This restaurant was busy the night we visited and they easily could have used another person. I'll leave it at that. The food was good and properly prepared, however, I think we were expecting more after reading reviews and were slightly disappointed. I would say the pricing was fair but on the higher end. The deposit required to secure the reservation does get subtracted from the final bill, but the whole process of paying a deposit to hold your reservation didn't sit well with me. Maybe it's a more common practice in the UK than in the US.

My girlfriend and I went for a day out in the Cotswolds, initially aiming for Bibury. We diverted to Cirencester as Bibury had an event on and was too busy. Arriving in Cirencester at about 1:00 p.m., the first thing we wanted was lunch. Looked in TripAdviser and saw this place, so set it as our destination. We did look at other restaurants we passed on our walk from the car park, but ended up carrying on to Amore Mio. We’re very pleased we did. We shared a portion of cheesy garlic bread to start and then I had the lasagna, whilst my girlfriend had the penne arrabbiata. They were both superb; my lasagne was probably the best I’d had in a restaurant. The cost was reasonable and, whilst we’d paid the service charge included on the bill, we also left a small cash tip. I can see us returning on a future trip to the area! Great food, superb service, lovely ambiance and a wonderful decision to visit.

Had booked my table through the online system, you are given a 1 1/2 hr slot no problem with that. Service from the young lady was good food good although to gap between starter and main (probably to do with time slot) . When asked if we wanted desert asked for a minute or two before we decided.. this was between 7pm and 7:05pm I looked at the time we waited till just before 7:20 and had to ask for dessert menus places our order within a couple mins.. no one mentioned the table time slot as or before we ordered. The manager walked passed me mumbled about the slot and I said we have the placed our dessert order. He then sent the young waiter over to Sat we could have our dessert to take away as they needed the table. No customers were waiting for a table …. We explained waited for him to return to order and had to request menus ater 15-20 mins waiting he said that wasn’t possible i explained it was what happened as I had been watching the time. Due to staff manner at this time we decided to leave. We paid and left only 5 mins after out allotted slot … the so called next customer were still not waiting. The staff had cleared and cleaned a table beside us during our meal within a few minutes of that customer leaving it didn’t take long to reset the table and that table was still free when we left… If you go here be aware you will be asked to leave at your allotted time even if you have not completed your meal.

We visited with our two children. We chose this place as it has amazing reviews and our kids love Italian food. My son ordered the kids pizza. I wanted to order a small pasta bowl for my toddler but they said they only offer pizza for the kids menu. I found this a bit strange and unfair to the kids. Anyway, I Ordered an adults Pomodoro pasta instead of my original choice. So I could share it with my daughter. When it arrived I put some on a separate plate and within minutes my daughter was spitting it out as they had put chillies in the sauce. Actual sliced red chillies. My daughter is only two and doesn’t do well with spice hence the fact I ordered a plain tomato sauce pasta. My husband ordered a seafood linguine and asked for extra chilli but didn’t get any (we later found out they accidentally put it in my dish instead). I can’t fault the staff, very attentive. And the food was fresh and hot. They did deduct the pasta from the bill and make a fresh bowl but we were ready to leave by that point as the rest of us had eaten. My daughter enjoyed a little bit of the correct pasta when it came. It’s a shame our experience didn’t reflect the amazing reviews on here.

We really had a good time at this fine, friendly Restaurant. We enjoyed our spaghetti bolognaise and garlic bread and also our drinks however we did think that our main course was quite expensive at ÂŁ17.80 per meal for our spaghetti bolognaise. The garlic bread was tasty and we paid separately for that of course. However we did know the price before we went and did think our meal was delicious! We thought it was great that the atmosphere was relaxed and calm and that though it was happily busy it was good to be an adults only venue during the evening. Many Thanks.

We came here to have a birthday celebration meal for my husband and couldn't have been more delighted. The staff were excellent, attentive (though not overly so), friendly and helpful. Every course that everyone had was both delicious and well presented, with a perfect amount of time between courses so as not too feel rushed, but not waiting a long time either. The atmosphere was relaxed with nice unobtrusive background music. The tables also had a decent amount of space between them meant you could still easily talk to and hear each other. Overall it was a perfect evening for what we wanted and I would thoroughly recommend it! 🙂👍

Another wonderful meal! We’ve never had a bad experience here so get excited to visit! I’ve had almost everything on the menu over the years, my husband always goes for the pizzas and they are fab and authentic but I like to try different things. Last time I had the carbonara which was insanely good, a great example of Italian cooking where the simplest fresh ingredients make amazing food! This time I had the pork saltimbocca which was delicious, really tender and flavourful. My only suggestion here is to make the meat slightly smaller (like 2 pieces instead of 3) and have it come with a small amount of potato (they are delish) and a side salad or veg like with the other meats I’ve had before. The wonderful waiter did warn me that adding potatoes and roasted veg would be a lot of food but for me a meal isn’t complete without a small amount of carbs and good portion of veg. There were a lot left over but thankfully we have a human dustbin at home who finished it off when we got home. I didn’t have room for pudding this time but the tiramisu has always been good. We will be back!

We were expecting more having read the reviews! However, we rated it as satisfactory. The menu generally was expensive. A selection of nice steamed veg would have balanced out the beef and pork mains. Pizza was expensive and wine/glass expensive.

We went for a meal as a group of friends. Food was delicious & lots of choices. we had to order quickly as we were late arriving as our previous event had overrun and the kitchen was due to close at 9’30. We ordered pasta and pizzas and it was tasty, hot and beautifully presented. Staff were very welcoming and the restaurant looked lovely with fairy lights in the window. Highly recommended

This was one our favorite meals on our visit to the Cotswolds. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive and went out of his way to share recommendations. They were very accommodating of a gluten allergy, and quickly advised us what options were available. The lasagna was incredible. Maybe the best I’ve ever had. Caprese salad and affogato were also superb. Fantastic experience for my wife and I.

Our delightful waiter advised us that our (scrumptious) starter of buffalo mozzarella, grilled vegetables and fresh bread was best shared or we would have no room left. Top tip. The wine was delicious and our pizzas were fab. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cosy, warm and friendly, and it was one of the best meals I’ve had anywhere this year. Lovely.

Very upbeat and atmospheric initial experience. The starter was very nice and all boded well for the mains. We had the lasagna and the pork with potatoes. The lasagna was good if a little over salted. However the pork was very greasy and under cooked and was sent back virtually untouched. When the bill arrived despite the fact that we had spoken to the server previously, the full amount had been charged which we felt was wrong bearing in mind the obvious. It maybe the choice we made and the pizzas looked very good but we felt the response to our query should have been handled by the management better, even if just in the form of an enquiry by the manager.

Very quiet on a Friday evening. Service friendly and efficient. Food is Standard Italian fare. Good pizza. Risotto bland, lacking any real flavour and few added ingredients; a little stodgy too. We are well used to dining out and not afraid to spend money. However the prices here are well above those of similar restaurants and far too high for the dishes offered. ÂŁ18.95 for a children's meal is extortionate in my opinion, double that of similar restaurants in Cirencester.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food we had was tasty but rather expensive. Chicken risotto at over ÂŁ20 when the 10% service charge was added (automatically). Sadly, there was no gelato available when we were there yesterday. But the thing we found particularly annoying was being charged ÂŁ1.65 (1.50 plus 10%) for extra parmesan. That is the first time that's happened to us - anywhere! We are very unlikely to visit Amore Mio again for this reason. How sad!
