I cannot think of a place I have ever been where absolutely everything is just so perfect from start to finish. We had our first date there and many after that until we eventually (2yrs later) got married in Cirencester & had the most wonderful wedding reception in that enchanting little Inn in the heart of the Cotswold countryside. Nicky,... More

We were not happy with our food! We needed food and we were hungry! We didn't want to kick up a fuss as it was late. But we both had steak and it was so so salty. I don't have salty food, but this was unreal. We kept eating hoping it would get better but it didn't. It was very... More

Lunch with a group of friends, this was my first visit. The menu is very varied, something for every taste and good prices, not cheap but certainly not expensive. Being a large group I always get a bit tetchy about the bill but they have a fantastically simple system so each couple had their own 'tab'. The food was outstanding... More

We booked a table for lunch, luckily as it was busy, for 7 adults, 2 babies and 4 children. The staff were very welcoming, in spite of it being busy, we did not have to wait long for the food. We had starters and main courses, the quality was excellent. Likewise the service was first class, nothing was too much... More

Always a great meal here, traditional pub grub but really good standard and lovely setting. Have also eaten here with family on a Sunday, the roast is a firm favourite with all the family. Kids love it.

Despite being packed to bursting and being booked in at the tail end of a long lunchtime shift the welcome and level of service was still good - cheerful attentive staff and food delivered in timely manner. Environment convivial with a lovely log fire burning in the background. What stopped me awarding a higher rating though was the food itself.... More

We had lunch there today with four other members of our family. The pub was extremely busy so it was lucky that we had booked in advance. The food was very good and the asparagus starter was outstanding, considering how busy it was the service was good. It was a chilly day and nice to see that both log fires... More

We chose to eat at the Green dragon for a birthday treat. The staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was a pleasant one with an open fire burning its way. The decor was genuine if somewhat artificial in its appearance. The layout of the restaurant was somewhat clinical and one could overhear the conversation of surrounding guests - which in... More

What a nice place. I pass by here quite a lot and although a few minutes "out of the way" it is a lovely place to visit. I had too much work to do when I arrived, but the surrounding area looks beautiful. The room price is fine / low for the area. The food price is around £12 +... More

A traditional country 17th Century inn situated in the Cotswolds only 15 minutes drive from Cheltenham, Gloucester and Cirencester. The Green Dragon Inn continually proves to be a popular retreat for those appreciating good food, fine wines and real ales. Set in the countryside for a relaxing experience and great walks from the door.On a fine day, sit outside amongst the honeysuckle and hanging baskets or on colder days relax by the log fires in our Oak beamed bars. Browse over our extensive menu and daily changing specials board, where our chef uses his creativity in producing “pub food with a difference"One of our special features of the pub is the ‘Mouse Bar’. The furniture and the bars themselves have been made by Robert Thompson, the famous ‘Mouse Man of Kilburn’ with small mice running all over the hand carved chairs, tables and mantelpiece! To complement the food there is a wine list notable for its range and value. We also have a good selection of fine ales; Hook Norton, Otter, Doom Bar and GL Cider. Nine comfortable bedrooms are individually furnished to a high standard, all with their own en-suite bathroom. The rooms are all doubles and twins, and extra beds for children can be provided if needed. In addition we have the St. George’s Suite and has its own sitting room. Also an ideal venue for weddings.
