In the winter it has roaring log fires to warm you. A friendly traditional English pub with great food where you can... More

We decided to grab a bite after the gym and were firstly greeted by a very proud owner of this wonderful establishment. After ordering the locals' night food (an incredible stew with cous cous) and enjoying a carafe of red, we treated ourselves to a wonderful cheeseboard with soda bread and crackers. The food was wonderful and the service was... More

Went to the plough for a Saturday lunch with family and were welcomed by friendly staff. The food was lovely and the desserts were even better. Will definitely be going back.

Warm welcome and friendly staff in this lovely country pub/restaurant. Log burners on a cold sunday lunchtime really made the place. We both had roast lamb which was locally sourced and full of flavour. I always like a nice coffee after a meal and alot of places are a let down on this front. Im glad to say they did... More

Passed it on the road from Rye and decided to try it out. 5pm on a Saturday and they welcomed us in. Rustic furnishings with a log burner throwing out warmth. Shown a table, served with drinks and menus really quickly. Staff were welcoming and friendly, food was wonderful, we had boar with pasta and the wild duck - no... More

Description
The Plough is a quintessential English country pub with stunning views from our pond side garden over the Brede Valley with the sea as a backdrop. Situated on the Kent and East Sussex border and less than two miles from the medieval town of Rye, we enjoy a fantastic larder of local produce, from the freshest of fish landed in Rye and Hastings every day, to the wonderful delights from the Romney Marsh such as lamb and beef as well as the best of seasonal vegetables. With all this on our doorstep, we offer a good choice of local beers, ciders, wines and freshly prepared food, from our tapas, to our original choice of freshly prepared dishes and our homemade ice creams.
