Superb food, great flavour combinations. Outstanding staff, especially Andy and James in the bar, Carlos and Natalia in the restaurant.

Visited recently as had some Black Friday Vouchers. When I booked I gave details of vouchers. When they phoned to confirm booking they confirmed they had the voucher details. When we arrived I offered the vouchers but was told not to worry as they had the voucher numbers,, Why then did the bill turn up without the voucher value taken... More

We love Hotel du Vin. We've eaten and stayed at them all over the country. We visited Hotel du Vin in Brighton on Valentine's Day for pre lunch drinks. The service was atrocious!!! We made ourselves comfortable and waited for somebody to come to the table to take our order. Eventually a young man appeared behind the bar so the... More

We didn't eat in the Bistro, we had a bowl of soup and glass of wine in the bar area. Comfy chairs and low tables generally creating a relaxed atmosphere. Some other guests were having afternoon tea. Soup of the day was very nice and served with gorgeous bread. Service was ok but they didn't bring salt and pepper or... More

Came here for some drinks to see some friends that were staying here. We were told there was table service if we sat upstairs but that never came. Some friends went back downstairs to order drinks and after waiting a long time, I went outside to cool off a bit. By the time I came back in the drinks had... More

I rarely right reviews unless I feel really strong about my opinion. Brighton has so many lovely restaurants and bistro du vin is somewhere we just never got around to going to. So we we're looking forward to having dinner their since we had only heard good things. However to say this place is disappointing is an understatement the menu... More

Advertises a set menu for dinner on their website but not available on Saturday nights. NOWHERE on their website does it mention this. Also, aperitifs are traditionally served before food arrives.

We visited the Bistro for a family Sunday lunch, exactly 10 years after celebrating my Dad's birthday there. 10 years ago, the decor in the restaurant was plush, the ambience, music and lighting was just right, the food was of a high standard, we had a really nice time. But 10 years on, the first thing I noticed was the... More

Went here 2 years ago and loved it so when they emailed with a 2 course and a bottle of wine for 2 for £39 deal we booked a table. When we arrived, we were greeted by 2 members of staff and when I gave my name for the booking one of them appeared to mutter something to the other... More

Description
The Hotel du Vin Bistro in Brighton is just off the seafront and five minutes from the madly inspiring shops in The Lanes, but who would want to leave? Set in a collection of gothic and Tudor revival buildings built by, so apt, a wine merchant, the hotel has the trademark stylish, witty, super comfortable dcor that has won the group so many awards. The restaurant is elegant and relaxed and usually full, offering a menu rooted in classic European cuisine with a contemporary edge. The simple classics change seasonally, augmented by head chef Rob Carrs own creations each day. The extensive, eclectic wine list is central to the hotel, with a great number of choices by the glass.
