Think most of these reviews are out of date. Sawdust long Gone along with Hotdogs. NEW ( well fairly ) unabashed Landlord with his Lady wife make you feel Welcome. Excellent service and very reasonable prices. Old time Disco/ karaoke on Friday Nights not to be missed if you're middle aged and feel compromised by teeny-boppers.

This pub has gotten tired in the last 18 months. It had mixed clientele, saw dust on the floor and the small back room could be sat in. Now it's catering to local elderly Irish men, no saw dust and the back room is used for storage

Small local drinkers boozer that's has been given a bit of cash for a refurb that to be fair is pretty cool it is what it is locals who know everyone and are wary of new faces and barmen/women who always server those locals first standard really

This is a lovely little pub if you want a few beers in a friendly genuine atmosphere. Eclectic decor, lots of framed photos and prints , old church pews for benches , excellent real ales , at £3 a pint , decent snack food and friendly staff. Worth looking out for especially of the pubs in St James street are... More

I loved this place. If I win the lottery i'm buying a house close and spend a lot of time here. Great quality beer served in old fashioned pint glasses, friendly bar staff and the hotdogs were delicious. Well worth a look.

Can't believe I've not been here sooner... from the outside you may not be drawn in but the stories of its greatness are filtering across the city. £3 a pint for some good hand pull ales. A fine selection of hot dogs, beautifully prepared and brimming with taste and all for a super value price. Nice surroundings, great music, chatty... More

Loud music which the barman wouldn't turn down even when asked; dirty glasses; filthy sawdust on the floor (I think this is meant to make the place look 'authentic' - it makes it look grubby).and rude staff. The barman claimed to have called last orders when we asked for a drink: I don't think he did but if he had... More

We first fell into this pub by accident to escape the rain but were impressed enough to reserve an area for 15 people the next week for a leaving do. The manager Glenn couldn't have been more friendly and helpful throughout the night. It was the first visit there for a lot of our group but we all loved it... More
