We took some visiting New Zealanders to Tookta's for dinner and we weren't disappointed. The food was as good as usual and the welcome, considering we hadn't visited for many months, was very warm and gave a good impression of the place to our friends. They commented on the way home how excellent the food had been - and they... More
This was my 2nd trip to this place and like before it did not disappoint. I had possibly the best curry in years and this restaurant in perhaps a prime example of the beauty of doing fewer things well. It is cosy but we loved the window table and the feeling that you are eating in someone's living room. I... More
This 'Cafe' provides real Thai food freshly cooked and with good service. It is however very small with only about 20 places. As such it can be extremely noisy so it is not a place for a romantic evening. The tables are close together and were a bit sticky from the previous meals and the kitchen which is close by.... More
I booked a table at Tookta's to take visiting family for a meal and we were not disappointed. What a treat! The staff were very friendly and attentive - they treated us to a great evening. The food was delicious and we will definitely be going back again. It was cooked to order and was fresh, full of flavour and... More
Just off the beaten track - Popped in just as they opened at 6pm; looked after very promptly and effectively. Food was absolutely amazing! Clearly made to order, piping hot and delicious. I will be coming here again on my next trip to Brighton. Well Done to the Tookta's team!
I came here on the basis of other reviews. A cosy and relaxed atmosphere off the beaten track. Came on a quiet week day night but it quickly filled up. The menu is limited and I was right in thinking that this was a good thing. One of the best if not the best Thai Curry's I have ever had.... More
We went to Tookta`s Cafe for dinner on the occasion of my wife`s birthday. The restaurant is nicely tucked away on a small room away from the main street (Western Road, Brighton). The ambience is very modest, not very spacious. You can see the kitchen directly, which to some may not be a good part of any restaurant. But if... More
My partner has been here before and said it was the best Thai restaurant she had ever been to! She also told me that it was quite small and basic inside which got me wondering... We went on a Saturday night, you need to book in advance! The welcome we had was very friendly, the place is warm, cosy, clean... More
