Dear Benhenry, We are very diligent about checking restaurant reservations when taken over the telephone as we know errors can cause upset for our guests and can be difficult to resolve. To avoid mistakes we make a point of repeating all information at the time...More

The Restaurant is down a narrow steep staircase- hold the rail! Food was delicious- pumpkin soup, then the risotto and the smoked salmon. Not crowded in late November, quiet. A nice spot.

Myself and my partner were in Brighton for 2 nights so decided to make one of them a 'special' evening. We had a coctail in the hotel bar - pre meal which was very well made. The bar area itself is quite small but did...More

It was a family members 50th birthday and the place did not disappoint. The cocktails were spot on in the bar after eating a gorgeous meal. Have returned twice since. Definitely recommend.

The set lunch menu is small but we didn't have any trouble finding something to please. The food was beautifully prepared and very attractively presented. The service was unobtrusive but delightful - no waiting but not hurried. All three of us - my 30 year...More

Our third visit to Drakes this year did not disappoint. Very good interesting menu but not over complicated or wacky like some restaurants. The roast beef is great with all trimmings as was the roast belly pork, with crispy skin and fat removed. Starters of...More

Have been here several times, and service is consistently very good - a real strength that lets many other place down in Brighton. Food is also consistently very good - and they often also throw in small surprise dishes as well. Absolutely lovely flavours and...More

We had the private room for the family of 8 and 3 children and ordered off the lunch menu. Do not expect a view because there isn't one. The complimentary lobster starters were delicious and the three courses were too. We had one vegetarian with...More

Description
Considered by many to be Brighton's best restaurant, backed up by its status as the highest scoring local dining room in the Good Food Guide, The Restaurant at Drakes is an elegantly stylish setting for any occasion. Subtle lighting casts moody shadows across exposed brickwork and rich colours throughout the intimate dining room while Drakes cocktail bar offers airy sea views and excellent cocktails. The kitchen team insist on the best of ingredients, fresh and seasonal, including fish bought daily from local fishing boats, to create the excellent, refined menu that has earned the restaurant two AA rosettes. A special place, unpretentious in its warm atmosphere, it's easy to see why The Restaurant at Drakes has such a reputation.
