Absolutely no complaints, faultless. Great service which was also very quick. Our waiter was on hand to give advice (my boyfriend has an allergy that he needs to be careful of) and offer suggestions. I had the mixed kebabs and he had the lamb tagine....More

Nice place to eat. Nice menu. Nice staff, but really wish it was more. The main dishes (in my opinion) lacked authenticity. Reminiscent of a load of spices being thrown in tomato sauce and not cooked through properly. It was just "nice" Made up ever...More

It's a nice place. It has the feel of a middle eastern restaurant, just without the execution on a plate. It's like a replica of middle eastern food, but with clear signs of being counterfeit. The desserts were brilliant though.

From the warm welcome to the well presented food, to the great service from all the staff, A Taste of Sahara was excellent. Lovely atmosphere with a young crowd in celebrating something! I wish more restaurants would do BYO wine, requiring them to get their...More

My friend and I did an impromptu Friday night dinner and we had already not gotten in to one place. We then tried here and to be honest so glad that we got turned away from the first one. Sabri greeted us and was so...More

Pleasant ambience for non arabs to taste Middle East cuisine. Very odd, the staff REFUSED to give a slice of lemon in the drinking water. Most odd, not even a mint leaf offered! Charming Tunisian waiter. Quick efficient service. I ordered lamb tagine but was...More

Taste of Sahara is our favourite restaurant in Brighton. The manager, Idan, is a really wonderful human and has taken the time to get to know us and always wants to chat. He is effortless and always provides a relaxed environment. We tend to order...More

I think they might have dairy free options but not quite sure about gluten free.

Description
A Lebanese and Persian restaurant on Brightons busy Western Road, Taste of Sahara gives seaside dwellers a taste of the exotic at a very reasonable price. With its dcor created with care to reflect the atypical Middle East of story books and holiday brochures all pierced tin lanterns, heavy wood and rich colours Taste of Sahara has a look which reflects the diverse flavours of its immensely flavourful menu. From kebabs to tagines, all ones Middle Eastern favourites are offered by the Sahara kitchen, along with some lesser known dishes that will tempt the more adventurous diner. In particular, the restaurants mezzes prove popular, the sharing concept somehow suited to this kind of cuisine, particularly when accompanied by the BYO policy.
