El Mexicano is right next door to the Theatre Royal which is why we chose to eat there. It turned out to be a great choice, very good Mexican or Spanish food is on offer at reasonable prices. I would certainly chose to dine here again when in Brighton.

Great lunchtime offer of 2 tapas and glass of wine for just under £10. Generous portion and tasty tapas - decent wine but mainly central location to sit out and people watch.

Wonderful friendly service and fabulous food. Great if you want to truly have an amazing evening, pre-concerts/pre-theatre. The Mexican Tapas is wonderful! Desserts are delicious!

Have eaten in here several times, usually before I go to the theatre. Never had a bad meal in here. The staff are efficient if not a little bit robotic, in saying that they do their job well. The food is excellent. I had chicken enchilada and it was so tasty. Really nice meal. We were a group of three... More

Visited El Mexicano before a trip to the theatre next door, very pretty restaurant and the waitress was lovely. We mentioned the theatre and once we had showed our tickets were given a free glass of prosecco - very nice touch! We ordered off the tapas set menu, 3 dishes for £10.50 or something close to that and you wouldn't... More

Snug little restaurant. Took a while for anyone to notice we were waiting to be seated, so we almost left. Glad we didn't. We ate off the lunch deal menu, so value at less than £10 each including a drink was excellent. I had the calimari which was perfectly cooked. The other half had the chicken burrito which was huge... Waitress could not have been more helpful, understanding time limitations we ordered 2 X tapas each plus 1 glass of wine each at an all inclusive price of £9.95 per person. Portions were huge, Gambas Aioli, Albondigas, Mushrooms in Garlic finally Chorizo,... More

A thoroughly enjoyable meal at this restaurant. The Tapas menu was great and there was good variety. Cocktails were well done and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The chef even came out to see how our meal was! Highly recommend for date nights, meals with friends or just a quick bite.

El Mexicano sits in the heart of Brighton's theatre district and prides itself on being the only authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. Buzzy atmosphere is fueled by vibrant Latin vibes, music, cocktails and food. Authentic Mexican cuisine and Spanish tapas is the order of the day, including Enchiladas, mole, sea-food paellas and fajitas. After your meal, visit Valentino, the art deco style bar upstairs, which is licensed until 2am.
