We dropped in for a light lunch and ordered a quiche with sales leaves and a nice cup of tea, having just walked a bit of the South Downs Way. Our quche has massive!! but ever so light and fluffy. Everything went down a treat!

I don't often come to Alfriston but when I do I head straight for this little bolt-hole. It's very clean and cosy with a good choice of lunches and cakes. It's lovely sitting out side in the summer, either back or front. Friendly staff and...More

Love this place! We've been here for lunch, coffee and cake, and afternoon cream tea. Each time the food has been brilliant, and the service equally so. It's such a sweet little cafe, with a great feel to it, you could happily stay all day!

This unassuming little cafe surprises with the most amazing home-cooked food, and effortlessly caters for 'difficult customers' like me, providing delicious vegan and gluten-free options. My meat-eating partner was equally impressed with his meal, and we have since been back three times for brunch and...More

My partner and I visit most weeks and we wouldn't go anywhere else in Alfriston. Dogs are welcome inside which is a huge bonus for us walkers who come with a canine friend. All the staff are friendly and helpful and it's lovely to be...More

Description
Overlooking the enchanting village square, the singing kettle tea house idyllically looks out on village life. Inside you'll find calming contemporary farrow & ball decor with arty wall hangings and in the warmer months you can choose to sit out front and watch the world go by, or hide away in the delightfully secluded walled garden A long established tea house with a renowned reputation for fabulous innovative cakes, sweet & savoury scones and excellent customer service. But it's much more than a tearoom, for lunch you could have one of the various takes on welsh rarebit or opt for an open sandwich or toastie on hand cut bread, maybe try the delicious soup all of which is prepared and cooked for you on the premises. It's all simply lip smacking.
