Visited with friends from Belgium who wanted to see a traditional English Tea Rooms. As we had our dog we had to sit in the secluded, courtyard garden. This was no problem as it was a warm, sunny day. Small but varied menu with plenty...More

Every year when we visit Alfriston we come here. The secret garden at the back, in warm weather, is delightful. Inside is lovely too. The staff are great. The selection of drinks is extensive. The best things are the cakes. They are to completely die...More

Very pleasant to sit in the garden, (weather was perfect) Delicious sandwiches, panini, and guest cake. Tea and coffee excellent. Made the most of a tight space, staff work hard and very helpful. Beautiful spot, well worth the short walk from the village car park.

We know it was the village bakery for 200 years until 1933, and proprietor Michael Luttig and manager Lynn Attfield continue the tradition of exceptional baking on the premises. “Dissenters” from St Andrews Church met here in the late 18th Century until they built their own independent church (now the United Reformed Church) in 1801. We even have a Standing Stone in the pavement outside the front door…
