We went here in a large group so they insisted on us choosing ahead, but no restrictions on our choice. We were greeted on entry and shown to our table complete with menus. Service was good throughout but annoyingly the server kept overfilling our wine...More

My wife and I visited The Elephant restaurant once again after previously having had a great lunch a year or so ago. We returned for an evening meal and were not disappointed that we did, which can occasionally be the case. We ate off the...More

Ate here a few years back and it was exceptional. Not disappointed this time around either. Beautiful setting, exceptional staff and service and the food is incredible. I have to admit to being very much a carnivore. Dinners not dinner without meat! Last night I...More

We visited this restaurant about 4 years ago and ate some of the best food. My husband brought me back for my birthday. The service is impeccable. Staff really friendly. It’s a high end restaurant but has a relaxed atmosphere. All the food is seasonal...More

Five of us dined at lunchtime before Easter. We settled for the set menus, and the choice and quality of meals was excellent. Attentive, but not overbearing waiting staff. Nothing was too much trouble, even when it came to catering for one of our party...More

I cannot fault the restaurant in any way. I was very well looked after by Tom and Maisy and each course of the tasting menu was excellent. However, for a tasting menu a couple of the courses were very generous so make sure you are...More

The Elephant is a bright, informal restaurant which overlooks the beautiful Torbay harbour. It was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star which it maintains today. We aim to source all our ingredients locally and sustainably, many from our dedicated farm in Brixham. Please feel free to ask our front of house team about anything you are unsure of. Run by chef proprietor, Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy. Food is cooked by a talented team of chefs and served by friendly, professional team of staff. Diners can enjoy a delicious à la carte menu and set menus featuring local and sustainable fish, meat and vegetables, sourced from the surrounding area, in an informal and attractive setting. For an extra special culinary treat opt for the tasting menu. Expect friendly and knowledegable service without the formalities. All our dishes change regularly depending on which locally grown and reared (many sourced from our dedicated farm) ingredients are at their best.
