Sunday's carvery lunch at the Palace Hotel costs a few pounds more than the local competition but the range of meats and vegetables available, the quality of the cooking, the efficiency of the service, and the comfort of the dining room more than make up the difference. I was impressed with the food here, it is a cut above the average hotel food, This is a large place and one can meet people from all over in the bar, it is a good quite location, short walk from Babacombe, and Torquay, no hooligans around here and the best fish and chip shop in the u.k. is a... Visited for a business conference and was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was from the main road. My room was on the 3rd floor that overlooked the manicured gardens, and i have to admit that it had a nice friendly feel to the whole hotel. The staff were friendly and professional and were able to provide answers to my queries.... More

Just wanted to say how much we all enjoyed the wonderful food provided over the new year break - outstanding! Also a special pat on the back for the person who is responsible for the soups and the person who makes the scones ... Both exquisite. Well done brigade you made us very happy

Have eaten at the Hotel many times each year of the 30 years I, my wife, family and friends, have had the pleasure of its hospitality. The food standard overall for such a large hotel has been and still is truly on a par with many of the best smaller Michelin recommended ( though not starred ) restaurants and pubs. Eat... More

We came here (family of 4) for Sunday Roasts, having experienced it on Mother's Day earlier in the year. I didn't realise that their roasts are in the form of a carvery which did concern me a little.
