What was once a jewel in Torquay's crown has become an over rated and pretentious place to visit with an appalling attitude towards locals. Won't be visiting again.

This recommeded pub/restaurant was rather disappointing. Described as the Inn on the Beach is does have great views but does not live up to it's reputation. The food is good but the service offhand. Do not sit at Table No.5 on a hot day as...More

A very nice meal in a wonderful setting BUT how disappointing that there is no restaurant car parking. The nearest car park which also serves the beach is private and holds about 30 or so cars and we had to queue for a space and...More

When I went on a sunday, the whole menu was still available, along with specials and the usual roast options. The roast was very good and very popular.
Do the bedrooms have air conditioning or a fan?

Response from Adrienne538 | Property representative |
The rooms don't have air-conditioning but all have slatted wooden blinds so once the sun gets hot in the summer, the shading is easy to control without losing the view. The windows and doors open and all rooms do have an... More

Open for lunch and dinner, the Cary Arms is a 5 star inn with luxury accommodation and exceptional panoramic sea-views. Choose from dining outdoors on sunnier days or a cosy table in the inn by the fireside. The Conservatory is perfect for larger parties and can be booked for exclusive use subject to availability. Reservations for dining are always recommended if you are not staying. Lunch is served from 12 noon to 3pm and dinner from 6.30pm to 9pm. If you haven't reserved in advance, we will always try to find you a table but we can't guarantee it. Relaxed and friendly, the lunch menus include a choice of soup and lighter snacks as well as sandwiches. In the evening, dining is more formal and the location very romantic. Menus include classic gastro-inn dishes featuring the best of fresh, seasonal, locally produced ingredients including excellent fish. Great wine list and a choice of local ales. Well-behaved children and dogs welcome. An adjacent car park offers pay-and display parking.
