Have been to the Barbican kitchen many times when run by the Tanner bros. The menu was uninspiring I only enjoyed my starter as for the mains only one thing appealed and that was disappointing the macaroni cheese with truffle could not taste the truffle and did not have a desert as desert menu so uninspiring. The service was ok.... More

We were greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome. We were shown to a table and given menus. The quality of the food was fresh and well presented. Well worth a visit, can highly recommend it. It even has lift access for persons in wheelchairs or with pushchairs.

Opted for the 2 course set menu, very good value for money at about £11. Nice interior, comfortable & modern with friendly staff. I had hake which was very flavoursome and then a delicious bread & butter pudding which was nice and light. Good glass of wine washed it down. Enjoyable lunchtime and despite it being quite busy service was... More

I recently went for an evening meal here with 9 friends to celebrate a birthday of one of them. We were required to pre-order meals but that did at least mean we did not have a long wait for food once we got there. The food was really tasty and well-presented. There was a cheaper 2/3 course deal between 6-7.30pm... More

Four of us went on Saturday evening, the restaurant was very busy but tables are nicely spaced so your are not squashed in with each other. The food was beautifully cooked, our waitress was helpful and knowledgeable and the ambience of a Gin factory as you walk in certainly makes it unique in the area. Great menu choice, all freshly... Located at the Plymouth gin distillery site. Nice gin cocktails in a seating area before dinner. Great mac cheese and amazing chocolate dessert. Wines reasonable and a good choice too. Not fine dining, but very hearty tasty food and friendly staff. Will definitely return

We visited last Saturday night, four of us, and had a fantastic meal. Great choice of food on the menu, meat and fish dishes, as well as vegetarian options. My starter, Whitebait, was the best I have ever tasted. They also had a Specials board, including a fish catch of the day. Good wine and alcohol list as well.

Eaten here a few times, and have always had a great evening. It's next to the Plymouth gin distillery, which is great for cocktails before dinner. The food is lovely, the staff are very friendly and there is a great atmosphere! Definitely will be back!!

I took my fiancée here as a spur of the moment date night. Somewhere for a nice meal with a welcoming atmosphere. The Barbican Kitchen didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was really friendly and relaxing. We both had a Plymouth Gin and tonic (which seemed a must as it is based in the Plymouth distillery) and it was very nice. The... More
