We had lunch at The Old Thatch on our way from Salisbury to Port Isaac, the lunch was excellent and we can highly recommend this pub. We were served by the lovely Justine who was so helpful, she recommended the ploughman's and wow was it good, it had a large pork pie, two cheeses, four ciabatta slices and all the... More

Just stopped off here en route to Cornwall and hit the jackpot. The catch of the day is smoked haddock chowder. It was utterly sublime and took me by surprise at how beautifully it tasted. The friendly staff have intimated that this Chef has cooked for the Queen. My oh my, it was something incredibly special. You MUST go here.... More

If you're in the area & need food & drink, just go & visit this pub. You will not be disappointed. On Good Friday, when you least expect good food or service, this place delivers both to a standard that could teach many other businesses, not just restaurants. They just so obviously care for the quality of their food &... More

We were making the long, long drive from Newquay, Cornwall back to Dover and wanted lunch, but not at one of the many fast food outlets en route. We tried several off the main road but they were either shut or stopped serving just as we arrived. However here we were able to eat at 2.45pm and were given a... More

We called in for Sunday lunch today. We were very pleased with the warm friendly welcome that we received. We placed our order for a rib eye and a rump steak. They were cooked to our preferences and to perfection. The sweets very very tasty too. Great pub.

Stayed at a nearby cottage for the weekend and came here on our last evening. A warm welcome for 9 of us and we all enjoyed our food. Billy was serving us and was very helpful. Lovely place and would visit again!
