We went to the Rising Sun on a beautiful day at the end of October and were able to sit outside and watch the world go by. Lunch was really good, very tasty fish and chips, and some good beer and cider. The staff were lovely and very friendly. A place we would visit again

Decent pub with solid food. The fish and chips is excellent. We have eaten there many times over the years and when we stay in St M we always eat at least once at the Rising Sun and are seldom disappointed. Its part of the SM experience.

We visited St Mawes during October half term and decided to lunch at the Rising Sun and how glad were we. The food was lovely, the service great and the overall atmosphere in the pub was lovely. There were seven of us and we had a range of food from the fish and chips to the burger - all excellent.... More

A friendly pub/hotel. Good place to relax with a drink or to eat a decent meal. Staff are friendly and efficient, food is straightforward and of good quality - I especially recommend the scallops!

Popped in for Lunch after a personal recommendation to visit the Rising Sun if we visited St Mawes. We weren't disappointed and now I can pass on my recommendations. The speacials board certainly made it different from other typical pubs and I must admit it wasn't something I was expecting to see on the menu, but the Sardines with a... More

The meal we had was ok for a pub meal but nothing special. The service was friendly and efficient. The seating was ok.

Went in The Rising Sun whilst on holiday in St Mawes for lunch and was so pleased with the food but more so with the lovely, helpful staff. A real pleasure and worth every penny.

We cannot fault the staff, the food, the portion sizes or the prices. The fact that we went four times in a week speaks for itself.
