Nice cosy atmosphere, friendly staff. We had Grilled Hake sitting on a Chorizo cassoulet and sage chicken schnitzel, followed by Apple Crumble Cake and Earl Grey Pannacotta. All was very good (crumble cake a tad dry perhaps). Also very impressive Cherry Bellini and nice craft ales. For St Mawes, a friendly place.

We stopped for a drink at the Rising Sun. Decided to get a take away from the 'Watch out' takeaway and return to our holiday cottage. Surprised by the cost of 4 items but did not think too much of it figuring the quality and quantity would make up for it. Got back to the cottage and I could not... More

What a cracking little restaurant. Very nice food, very friendly staff. One of the best restaurants in the village with a good range of choices to eat and drink. Recommend booking in busier times especially holidays!

Had a lovely lunch here after an invigorating walking along the coast roads. We've been to the area before but not eaten here so thought we would give it a go as not very busy compared to some other places. We went for grilled shellfish and a smallish bowl of haddock chowder and some chips and bread to share. The... More

We had dinner here on a Saturday night, whilst staying up the road at the Tresanton. We didn't have a reservation and managed to nab a table just before they stopped seating diners at about 9pm. I loved all three courses: spicy, piping hot fried oysters to start; a really good seafood spaghetti as a main, with well-cooked pasta, generous... More

Really enjoyed a great meal and the staff were great. But I am not sure why people need to bring their dogs out to dinner with them?

This was our second visit in eight weeks. Dined in the upstairs dining room. Seafood was fresh, beautifully cooked and presented. The staff were very professional and polite and had a "can do attitude ". Also tried the takeaway part one evening which was also brilliant. Well behaved dogs are also permitted in the downstairs restaurant. In my opinion this... More
