We live in the area, and ashamed to say whilst we have had 'coffee's and many lunches at the Tresanton, we have never been there for dinner until last night. We were taken by friends. It was stunning. Attentive service, wonderful food, my Lemon Sole was stunning. We are in the restaurant business ourselves and therefore, really appreciate the hard... More

We went for New Year's Brunch. I do not know if the occasion affected the standards but the menu appeared to be pub food in a posh setting, albeit with an italian twist. Arancini was listed alongside the fish and chips. Three of us ordered the fish and chips. We all found the chips were undercooked with raw hard potato... More

The sun came out to the enhance one of the loveliest restaurant views over St Mawes Bay. On hearing this was a treat for my 65 th birthday we were offered a complimentary champagne before settling down to the super value lunchtime special. The food was delicious and the service friendly, efficient and in no way intrusive. They then bought... More

Situated in the elegant Tresanton Hotel. Restaurant overlooks the sea. Great service and top notch food. They really try hard. Tonight I had the duck ... very tasty. Wife had the hake .. dry happy with that. Then home made ice creams. A great little spot in Cornwall. We will be coming again next year.

Having stayed at the Idle rocks thought we would compare restaurants and we both thought that the limited food choices the dry bread on the table we pointed out to the staff and a massive price at the end. This was in complete contrast to the far superior Idle Rocks hotel. The ambiance too was not that great as tables... More

We were very disappointed with lunch here. OK, it was a Tuesday out of season but all the signs were that this once top notch establishment was lacking in maintenance over the years. terrace furniture was starting to rust and the main dining room seemed soul-less; over-filled with small, wobbly tables with un-pressed white tablecloths. Two very ordinary crab salads,... More

The hotel is a lovely setting and beautifully furnished. The food at lunch is very good but not fine dining level (or price). The views from the outside terrace over the sea is fantastic. Child friendly too - there were a lot of other children at lunch.

Whilst out on a walk through St Mawes, we spotted a sign outside the Tresanton advertising Cream teas, luckily for us I have a sweet tooth and couldn't resist stopping off. Wow what a hidden gem this place is, having found a perfect table with very special views we where treated to exemplary service by the staff, an excellent choice... More
