Service has always been good. Food can be a bit hit and miss. Plenty of outside seating area when weather is good. Dogs welcomed. The curry is ok ("British curry") and reasonably priced. Good selection of beers on tap. The fish and chips is huge!

parking needs to be in the paid for beach parking areas - but if you are already parked for the beach, then this is fine for a quick meal / drink. Very busy / buzzy, popular with younger crowd, Very friendly staff. Eat outside (if warm enough) for the fabolous views

Ate here after 12 miles on the coast path - arrived just after food order cut off time but they still let us order. Great place, lovely inside and VERY friendly. We both ate fresh fish & chips & they were divine. A must visit place with really good prices - much cheaper than other local eateries, but just as... More

We have been coming to Watergate Bay now for 15 years and love it down here as its a special little bay that has everything you could want....or used to have I should say! When we arrived yesterday for the first of this years visits, we noticed the new 'WAX' signage on the side of the The Phoenix as we... More

The Phoenix is a good alternative to the more expensive offerings at Watergate Bay. Do not expect the modern shabby chic, coastal decor of the Beach Hut or Living Room and the food is not quite as good but you will pay a lot less. Definitely worth a visit for a family on a budget.

Popped in here several times and love the chilled out, cosy atmosphere here. Our little dog was also made to feel really welcome which was lovely . Can't wait to visit this place again when we return in March.

Last time I came here, I just came for a quick pint which was nice. This time, I came here for a bite to eat and what I got was surprising! The food was lacking in flavour and was quite tough.

Great food, dog friendly-easy access to the beach, great views, able to eat inside and outside depending on the weather. Portion sizes good-never left feeling hungry, good local beers and ales

A good place to grab a snack, or evening meal. The menu is varied and would appeal to all tastes. I would recommend the fish and chips- I have never tasted such fresh fish so beautifully prepared. The selection of drinks is good- try the local ale.. There is inside and outside seating areas, the outside was perfect to take... More
