Sunday lunch whilst on holiday in Ely - this was a near faultless meal in a lovely old building with an informal and unhurried atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I dined here on Tuesday evening with a friend of my son. Although Japanese he lives in Spain. He described the olives as better than any he'd had in Spain, and the service, the atmosphere, the food and the wine as perfect. I agreed with...More

We were a large group (about 25). Service was extremely friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and very well cooked. They offered a very nice touch with ‘seconds’. A very enjoyable restaurant.

Four of us booked for lunch. On arrival we had a drink in the upstairs room which was like a living room, very comfortable. The meal was excellent and an excellent atmosphere. We would definitely return if we are ever in the area again.

We have been eating here on and off for about 25 years and it is our favourite restaurant. If you like traditional English food well cooked in a relaxing atmosphere with no irritating 'piped' music, you'll love it too!

Whilst staying in Ely we visited this restaurant, a few yards from our hotel. It's an interesting use of an old building and the food was of a high standard. Staff were attentive and despite it being mid week the restaurant was very busy. It's...More

It's years since our last visit to the Old Fire Engine House, but the experience was every bit as good as on previous visits. The formula remains the same, pleasant and competent staff, a relaxing atmosphere and a kitchen that understands the need for excellence...More
