To start off booking is essential, the restaurant opens at 6 we arrived at 6.15 and by 7 people were being politely told that they couldn't be seated. This isn't a reflection of slow service, indeed we were surprised how quickly ours arrived given the number of diners, more that the staff are aware of the harmony between the pace... More

Lovely food, quite authentic in taste and nature but exceptionally overpriced. They could do so much more to make it a memorable experience but they dont seem bothered.

I was expecting authentic south Indian food but was very disappointed. Sambhar tasted more like toor dal. I doubt that they served toor dal as sambhar along with masalal dosa. Utthapam was more like pan cake. It no way tasted as utthapam I have had in South India. Over all, being Indian who have lived in South India and had... More

I have lived in Cambridge for nearly 30 years and this is a hidden gem of a restaurant. Super home cooked South Indian food with friendly service. Go for the fish curries or vegetarian dishes.

Four of us had booked for a peak time and the restaurant was filling up fast. We were welcomed and had our orders taken quickly and our courses of various vegetarian dishes were served soon and at top quality. Very pleasing experience.

I went to Rice Boat Cambridge with a group of economic students from my uni. The mood in the restaurant was comforting and the staff eagerly explained the composition and eating habits of the South Indian platter. My favorite of the sharing platters was a rice pancake with king sized prawns. In sum, great, especially if booking for a large... More

My husband and I visited with my sister in law and her family. We were told that they were busy, but that starters would be served quickly and that mains would be served within the hour. We had to wait 10 minutes for menus and 40 minutes for starters. Mains took over two hours to arrive: we should have left... More

My colleague and I went for dinner this past week. The service was attentive and the food excellent. My favourite was the lamb curry dish - it tasted like it had cardamon it it and was yummy! We started with the masala dosa and it was very tasty - maybe the best I've had. There was lots of food, we... More

Went to this restaurant with a group of friends. We were guided in our choice of food - everything on the menu sounded delicious - by the lady proprietor who is the wife of the chef. She helped curb our (over) enthusiasm and ensured we catered for the 5 of us only. She also recommended one or two things that... More

An thrice award winning restaurant offering the cuisine of the State of Kerala in South India. Indian food that is very different to that available in the normal High Street Indian Restaurants in the UK. Fresh fish, prawns, vegetables and meat cooked with a deft touch with spices. Not all of our dishes are hot, we offer vegan, vegetarian dishes and gluten -free breads. Air-conditioned, with disabled access and disabled toilet. Group menus arranged on request.
