Four of us wanted to have lunch in Cambridge on Saturday, after a quick look around Trip Advisor we decided to give the Free Press a try. Our friends arrived late which gave us a chance to see some of the food coming out of the kitchen, it all looked very good and generous portions. In the end our friends... More

Had a fantastic night here tonight.... booked a table for 8 of us plus a relatively well-behaved pooch. The food, atmosphere, beer, Prosecco, staff were all top notch. Of all the pubs in Cambridge this is definitely a firm favourite.

This pub is excellent. Tucked away on a residential street, it's a quiet and small pub but has a lot to offer. Always find great beers on tap and the menu is great. A personal favorite for sure.

Visited here on a pub crawl around Cambridge with friends. There is a good range of beers including some I wouldn't expect to see in Cambridge (eg Sadlers Peaky Blinder) and at one (Greene King Mild) I don't see very often at all. The beer quality was good. However, most of the beers are £4 per pint which , price-wise... More

Stopped by Free Press whilst pub hopping through Cambridge this past weekend. As others have described, Free Press is a traditional cozy pub with primarily cask conditioned beers that can be sipped while playing a selection of board games. Though we did not order any food, we enjoyed our time playing jenga at a corner table with a couple of... More

The snug itself is really snug. Good beer, genuinely old fashioned in a very good way and only crowded because of its size not because the tourists have found it

Sunday lunch in genuinely traditional pub surroundings, where there's a wide range of draught and bottled beer. Seems popular with locals, and I can see why. It has a cosy buzz. The food's good, too, as is the service.
