We visited Midsummer House at lunch time, on a Friday for the 5 course "tasting menu". Finding it was interesting, do not try to drive as parking is very difficult. We had a gentle stroll along the Cam to whet our appetites and then went...More

A beautifully balance dining experience with colour, texture, temperature and flavour all finely balanced to create a treat for the senses. Full of surprises, plenty of wow factor and skilful service, this restaurant is up there with the best in the country.

This was our third visit - the first two were 6 or 7 years ago. It remains an extremely classy place which would compete with the top restaurants in any European capital city. The food is now just one tasting menu. There was a lot...More

It is a while since we dined at Midsummer House. I sipped my drink from a long choice of Gin and Tonics which was locally produced, with strong Elderberry flavours filling my mouth. I thought it exceptional. Watching River activity pre dinner I was keen...More

I had been visiting this Restaurant since it opened over thirty years ago when it was part owned by Chris Kelly. Although, I appreciate its has now been awarded TWO MICHELINE STARS the overall ambiance has unfortunately significantly deteriorated with 'minimalistic' décor to accommodate over...More

We have visited a few Michelin star restaurants in our time but Midsummer House stands out head and shoulders above them. Yes it is expensive (even compared to other fine dining establishments) but it is an experience worth paying for. You are greeted from the...More

Can't fault this place (well maybe only the price of the water ). Fab food, lovely staff, relaxed and enjoyable - even got to meet Daniel who took time to say hello even though it was near the end of a busy evening service

Not for every day, Midsummer House is just a great, great place to eat if you have time and want to savour every mouthful and enjoy great wine with your food. The young woman sommelier was the highlight of our evening, pairing wines for us...More

The meal is more of an experience for people who appreciate many, small, beautifully presented plates of exquisite taste and sensation. It is not a conventional meal where you choose your courses, although they do cater for any allergies or intolerance that a guest may...More

Description
With its divine location right on the River Cam, Midsummer House is among East Anglias best restaurants. Once youve finished punting down the river and taking in the sights and sounds of the beautiful university city of Cambridge, pay Midsummer House a visit. Relaxed and elegant, with a sunny conservatory and perfect al fresco dining for warm summer evenings, this modern British restaurant offers a wide range of creative dishes with a sophisticated touch learned by Chef Patron Daniel Clifford throughout his years in Britain and Frances best restaurants. Passionate about ingredients, Clifford even uses the harvest from Midsummer Houses own 80 year old apple trees in his cookery.
