We went here for lunch after our marriage at the registry office. Quite simply - it was magical from beginning to end. An absolute treat!

Having had two previous dinners at Midsummer House that were both truly superb, I thought that high expectations might take the edge off this third visit. How wrong I was! The food was yet again sublime with the baked cod being a particular highlight. But what really makes this place is the commitment and charisma of the staff who somehow... More

Really good ambiance, friendly and fun staff plus an amazing lunchtime meal. We were at our table for just over three hours and tasted probably about 14 different items. My wife normally finds Michelin Star restaurant food too fussy but enjoyed absolutely everything that she ate. On booking the table I asked if I could have a pescatarian version of... More

My friend and I had the 5 course lunch - great amuse bouche, interesting mix of flavours and beautifully presented dishes (the cod was a delight) and two of the best desserts I have ever had!! The bread was a little black crusted and overcooked (if I had to moan about something!) - but it didn't stop us having more... More

Had dinner at Midsummer House last night, and have to say, the service and food was amazing. We were met at the door, coats taken, and were escorted straight to our table. The staff were very engaging throughout the evening, but were not over the top in querying how the meal was. Regarding the meal, The courses just kept on... More

So a couple of years ago I took my missus to the Kingston Arms Cambridge for her birthday meal, it was not well received. So the next year I booked us a table at Midsummer House to make up for it (FYI I like the Kingston Arms). The restaurant is based in a beautiful old house by the river, and... More

Michelin Star. What else do I need to say? But 54 more characters to go to get this review published :-) Save up, save up some more - but do treat yourself and your loved one for this special dining experience! It's worth every (hundred) pound. Yes, it is!

I took my girlfriend to midsummer house in may 2016 to celebrate her birthday...it was an incredible experience from start to finish, staff were amazing, food was incredible! If you love dining out, this place is a must, cannot fault anything we experienced!

A place with an immense reputation forged in legend, on hearsay and by the power of advertising. Reassuringly expensive...yet without class, style or punch. The food, for all its theatre:is mediocre and short on that holy grail 'for a high class eatery'... layered taste. The staff;very willing juxtaposed with the soulless click and vessel of the maitre d’. Many places are... More

We chose Midsummer House to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary with a flourish. What an inspired choice......We were welcomed at the door and shown to our table where a card was waiting signed by Daniel Clifford. We started with a gin produced in Cambridge and then the amuse bouche arrived and what wonderful things they were - especially the cauliflower... More
