Highly recommend this restaurant for several reasons. Exceptional service, very friendly welcoming staff. As a wheelchair user this was the first ever restaurant in 32 years to help me out of my coat. There is wheelchair access via a lift. It is not obvious so ask! Food was fabulous - surf and turf was cooked to perfection. Cocktails were varied... More

My boyfriend and I were in Cambridge overnight and wanted a romantic dinner. Having never visited the city before we were guided by other reviews of the River Bar Steakhouse and we were certainly not disappointed. The overall impression is casual but smart and efficient. The Head Waiter was very attentive, evidently enjoyed his job and loved to discuss the... More

The food is delicious. The view is wonderful. It's slightly hidden but worthwhile winding though the streets of Cambridge to find.

I visited this place a few months ago with a friend. Fantastic food definitely recommend the baked camembert to start with. They play music in the background, staff very attentive to your needs. More expensive but that's what you pay for if you want a nicer meal. Great cocktails.

When we arrived a member of staff seated us at the bar whilst he found us a seat by the window (as requested when booked). We enjoyed a beautifully made cocktail - the Elderflower & Cucumber gin collins - highly recommend! All evening the service was impeccable and the food absolutely delicious. One of our favourite things was the garlic... More

We booked in advance and arrived on time - but were asked to wait in the bar with drinks until a table was available. We did this for around 15m. The dining area is on two levels, one ground and one upper, both with river views - the upper level is only accessible via a spiral staircase so not great... More

My husband & I enjoyed a lovely meal here, with mussels & prawns for starters & steak for mains. It was at the higher price range, but certainly well worth paying the extra. It was delicious & we would definitely recommend it!

Visited River Bar for a late lunch earlier today and although we had a great time, I just couldn't rate it higher than Average as it needs some improvements. Table: we were seated by the staircase - great that every time someone went up and down we enjoyed the noise of creeky staircase and people staring over our table. Food... More

Description
The River Bar Steakhouse and Grill, with its cavernous loft-like vibe, quayside location and creative crowd, has become one of Cambridge's premier restaurants. Located close to the bustling town centre, in a riverside spot opposite Magdalene College, The River Bar Steakhouse and Grill is a popular choice for special occasion dining and drinks. The Grill serves the very finest prime cuts of beef, aged for 28 days and sourced from local farms. The menu includes a large selection of cuts, from a classic porterhouse to a tender fillet or indulgent chateaubriand for two. Burgers meanwhile are freshly made on the premises and marinated chicken and fresh fish come straight from the signature grill too. Though based around the steak, The River Bar Steakhouse and Grill caters superbly for vegetarians, serves sublime desserts and prior to your meal we heartily recommend enjoying hand mixed cocktails in the bar, the ideal start to any special evening.
