I visited a few weeks ago on the recommendation of friends and my wife who had previously had an excellent meal at the Old Queen's Head. I was really looking forward to it and was not initially disappointed by the service, which was generally very friendly, courteous and responsive, but by the food itself which was simply not up to... We had a reunion of 18 of us. Everything went well from the booking, to service and food. The staff could not have been more pleasant and attentive, Tina leads a great ship. -Thanks

Dear Sir/Mme Having previously been a satisfied customer I must complain regarding yesterday's lunch time visit. The premises and service were at their usual high standards. Although the same cannot be described for the lamb roast dinners. I should have flagged my concerns at the time. The meat was very fatty and chewy and not particularly hot. The roast potatoes... How on earth can this place only be the 27th best restaurant in High Wycombe? We recently moved to Amersham and are finding our feet, but have still visited a few places in the area. This restaurant is one of the best we have visited and definitely one we will be returning too. Firstly, they allow dogs, which is brilliant... More

We dine here a few times a year - and I always recommend it to friends and family. Every meal we have ever had here has been nothing short of perfect. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly. Each of the dining areas (whether you are in the bar / upstairs / outside) are comfortable and cosy. The whole establishment... More

The Old Queens Head is an ideal restaurant to meet with friends. Seating can easily and comfortably host a group of 8. The food is well presented and although a limited selection of real ale, the wine list offers a wide range. Quite expensive but you will not be disappointed with the value. Service is good and flexible.

Although I live in Australia this was not my first visit to the Old Queens Head, that's how good it is. The place has a lovely traditional pub feel to it but the food is a real step up from the old fashioned pub grub. The menu is good with plenty of choice and several specials. The service is great... We've eaten here a few times recently and the food has been really impressive. We booked a table on Sunday in the dog friendly bar area & had a fantastic roast. Couldn't fault the food & really great they cater for dogs.

Our Little Gem is a delightful country pub & restaurant that's full of charm, character and plenty of friendly faces. All are welcome in our bar area - even the beloved pooch! (Our doggy biscuit jar may be of interest to said pooch...) We have a stylish but cosy, two level dining room, a relaxed and informal bar area with a roaring log fire for the chilly months - and our lovely garden and terrace overlooking the village church is the perfect spot for those warmer days when the sun comes out to play. Everything on our menus is freshly made in our kitchen, including our ice creams and tasty chutneys. Our dishes change in line with the seasons and are made using the best local produce that we can get our hands on. In fact - If you think your veggies are top of the crops, then bring them along...we accept them as currency! (We're totally serious - Please ask) We're what you might call a 'proper pub', serving a selection of great real ales and lagers, alongside premium spirits and a good range of soft drinks and organic juices. Our wine list is carefully sourced (that bit was fun) and features boutique wineries - producing an exciting and individual list with many wines served by the glass. Planning a party? If you need that perfect spot to get some business done away from the office, or if you have something special to celebrate, please give us a call! We'll take all the hard work off your hands. Nearby, there are great walks in the beech woodlands of Common and Penn Woods, perfect for a visit to walk off one of our indulgent puds, or that Sunday roast. Whatever the occasion, if you're looking for a lovely spot to eat great food and catch up with friends and family, we think The OQH is just the place... We look forward to welcoming you soon! Tina (General Manager)
