We have been coming to maitreya social for many years, going back to when it was cafe maitreya and never once have we been disappointed! It is, in my opinion, one of the most innovative and best restaurants around; not just for vegans & veggies but for foodies and people who enjoy exciting ingredients and interesting combinations and meals. Love... More

The restaurant staff were incredibly friendly, and welcomed us with enthusiasm. The food however surpassed even this good impression and we both ate well! Gluten free vegan options were available as well as the vegetarian fare most of which could be adapted for vegans and clear labelling of everything assured me that the staff new about dietary requirements and wouldn't... Absolutely delicious and unique, stylish cuisine, including a deconstructed cheesecake for dessert they were very able to accommodate our large group and were friendly and efficient with their service bill was a quid short but they were easy breasy and the food was spectacular

I am a massive meat eater but have been meaning to come to Maitreya for about 8yrs, as it has been lauded as not just one of Bristols best Veggie venues bit one of Bristols best restaurants full stop for as long as I can remember! I was not disappointed at all! Admittedly we did only sample the breakfast menu,... More

There is a brunch rather than lunch menu. A few breakfast options and salads as well as other tasty looking dishes. We opted for the burger and chunky chips with coleslaw. The burger was tasty but a little dry so some relish would have been nice. Cheese topped focacia was good. We have had the breakfasts before and good to... More

Having been a vegan ten years and a practically lifelong vegetarian, I have eaten a lot of amazing vegan food. We have taken our search for vegan heaven from Devon to Brighton, Shoreditch to Berlin, Lyme Regis to Falmouth. Who knew the most stunning vegan food could be found just 90 miles from home in beautiful, independent-business-focussed Bristol. I am... More

We are here with friends and all 4 are meat eaters but we wanted to try something different. I have never eaten in a vegan restaurant before but as I grow a lot of veg I was really keen to have some different ideas to cook with. I had the celeriac veloute which was a silky soup with a touch... More

The food at Maitreya Social makes you want to keep coming back. Every time we eat here the menu is different and it is always delicious. The chefs put so much effort into producing exciting food. As a couple we just ordered both choices for each course from the Early Bird Menu and had half of each dish, swapping plates... More

I've been here several times over the last 10 years, the food is great, service is excellent, the interior is quirky, and it's the best area to stay in Bristol!
