Not sure what it is about this pub. When I pop in of a morning they always seem surprised to have a customer - but are very welcoming. Good choice of bar meals and nice people

The lager was gross, returned it as it was flat, got served an alternative that was sub standard as well, bit of an eggy smell. We could not finish our drinks and left. Charging £4.25 a pint is pure robbery when the beer is not cared for. We won't be going back.

Just love this traditional pub. A perfect 'local', with good friendly service, good pub food at very sensible prices and good range of beers and wines. Owner/manager/host really friendly and helpful. Since we discovered it a few months ago been several times now and will definitely keep going back.

This is our favourite pub for Sunday lunch everything is cooked to perfection, excellent quality, variety and generous potions. Booking in advance is recommended. Added bonus for us is that dogs are allowed so a lovely Sunday dog walk can end with fabulous food The staff are always friendly and welcoming and we often call in, dog in tow, for... More

Roasts are good, would have liked roast veg instead of boiled but otherwise lovely. Generous with gravy, yorkshires are delicious. Suggest also making veg gravy available as my veggie companions were a little disappointed with just cranberry sauce. Service could be improved, our waitress was pretty confused about what they had to offer. Desserts are not made in house, which... More

The Coach and Horses is a hidden gem in Bristol. A genuinely warm and welcoming local city pub that serves excellent food in unpretentious comfortable surroundings close to Clifton Downs. Sunday lunch is outstanding and just the thing after an invigorating walk. Prices are very reasonable for such very good cuisine. Warmly recommended.

This is a "pub" pub with good ale and wine, plus home-cooked food. Tucked away off Blackboy Hill but worth seeking out

We were staying close by and popped in on a Saturday night for the steak, chips and a bottle of wine for two for £30, and it was excellent. The service was first class, food delicious, very friendly atmosphere and not too busy. We will be going back next time we are in Clifton.

We regularly eat here for Sunday lunch so decided to try the mid week menu....it was just as lovely! We had a chicken and gammon pie and a home made gourmet burger with French fries. The food in this pub is fantastic. I cannot recommend it enough!
