I ordered the Chianti Shoulder of look lamb and sent it back! There was virtually no lamb on the plate and a few roasted potatoes on the side even though the menu stated creamy mash. Terrible all round

Always nice to visit Clifton Village and Zizzis. We had made a booking and were met at the door and promptly shown to our table on passing through the bar area a gentleman behind the bar gave us the most genuine greeting I have experienced for some considerable time. My Title reflects the high level of noise and poor understanding... More

Booked a table meny weeks ago because we were visiting Bristol and my husband and I love Italian food. Thanks to the tall handsome waiter the meal was saved , I was all for paying for the wine and starter and leaving but my husband wanted to stay , I ordered risotto peace and asked for it to be made... We hadn't booked anywhere so had a little wander around Clifton village, which is lovely. It was a Sunday evening so some restaurants were closed. There were 5 of us and were seated immediately in the back part of the restaurant In a 'cubby' area which was cosy but we did feel a bit on the outskirts as there was... More

Service was a bit slow although we were very appreciative that they squeezed us in. Food lovely as always although there was only a 5 minute break between starter and mains which meant we couldn't finish our mains in the end and felt a bit rushed, but like i said they did squeeze us in however if the service for... I thought that a visit to zizzis would be reliable for a nice family lunch? No! The food (apart from the pizza) was tasteless. The service was appalling! We had to ask 4 times to order dessert. Which was pathetic. And coffee was luke warm and watery. Very poor.

We've been in a couple of times, it's usually quite busy on a Friday, as you'd expect early on it seems to be frequented by parents with children from the local public schools , and kids parties but this doesn't detract from the charm. Whilst it's more or less a typical Italian they've done a great job by making it... More

We had nice beer and wine , great garlic bread and olives to start, carbonara with penne instead of spaghetti , very rustic, pizza and salad . Tiramisu and coffee to finish . All lovely. Staff great and didn't complain even though we were late leaving. Would definitely go back .

Haven't been to Zizzi's for ages as we try to support our local independents when we can, but was nagged into a visit by the children. Staff were perfectly pleasant and service was quick and attentive, but honestly, it was the oddest meal! I had spaghetti carbonara that tasted nothing like spaghetti carbonara should- I know it has a sauce... More

I was slightly trepidacious having booked here before I'd looked at TripAdviser reviews. But we had a good meal with good service - can't fault it.

Zizzi is a spacious Italian restaurant in the heart of Clifton Village, Bristol. Surrounded by quaint boutiques and other historic buildings, it is only a five-minute walk from Brunel's famous Clifton Suspension Bridge. With a large seating area tucked away at the back, Zizzi - Clifton Village easily caters for large parties whilst creating an intimate atmosphere for couples or smaller groups at the front of the restaurant. Zizzi is a lively and entertaining place to eat with friends and family, but the staff can also seat you somewhere secluded if you are after a bit more privacy! Zizzi - Clifton Village was given a makeover at the start of 2010 and now features an illustration by local artist Richard Sanderson, who was inspired by Bristol's floating harbour, terraces and the Great Western Railway. Zizzi restaurants are passionate about simple Italian cookery. Whether it's pizza or pasta, salads or risotto, or carne and pesce (meat and fish), each dish is prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients - from the popular classics to Zizzi's own innovations - ensuring that you can enjoy a great Italian dining experience, at any of Zizzi's Italian restaurants around the country.
