I booked for my mum and I to have Mother's Day lunch weeks ago. Had a phone call at 7pm last night to say that there had been an error and they were fully booked. This left me with 2 days to try and find an alternative, which I assume to be one of the busiest days of the year.... More

I guess you'd have to say that it did feel like a hotel restaurant rather than a stand alone venue, which I'd expect to have a bit more of a buzz. We were just dining but found the atmosphere a bit quiet - as it was a Wed evening it was also pretty empty. They had some nice Veggie options... More

We had breakfast here and if the lunch and dinner are of the same quality you won't be disapointed. Nice view of the river

Really nice restaurant that we stumbled across, and turned out to be a real treat for me. Food was really good, and the service was quite simply outstanding. Greg deserves a special mention for his above and beyond customer service. What an asset to the place. Given how well-decorated / even fancy, the place looks, prices were reasonable. Highly recommend... More

Sometimes one feels the urge to treat oneself in the culinary department. With food options abundant in the foodie capital of the United Kingdom that is Bristol, the competition is fierce! One such Sunday, my partner and I decided to do exactly that and meet some friends over dinner somewhere nice. I've always walked past the River Grille restaurant and... More

We were staying in the Bristol Hotel with friends and decided to eat in the hotel restaurant on the Saturday evening. Our orders were taken while we were having a drink in the hotel bar and when we were called to our table the starters were ready to be served. The staff were all very attentive and helpful and seemed... More

Turning grill into grille does not mean better and despite giving this four stars it could still do more. The menu choice is limited, a bit safe, and clearly designed to serve the hotel it is attached to rather than really grab any passing trade. You might not go here if you were adventurous, you also might not go here... More

Very nice place, very nice location, very polite staff. Good entries, but less good the meat: too burned outside. And calling itself "the grille" can be a problem!

This was my first time dining at The River Grille, and most certainly won't be the last. I follow strict gluten free dietary requirements and all the staff beared this in mind and gave me fair warning if any dishes were 'unsafe'. The staff were all so friendly and the setting was beautiful. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Description
Boasting stunning Harbourside view, The River Grille features some of the best produce in the South West and ingredients that speak for themselves. With a sleek lounge bar, The River Grille is also home to a pianist on Friday evenings and Sunday lunch times, and a Jazz band on Saturday evenings.
Head Chef Matt Lord writes the a la carte menu quarterly to make use of the best seasonal products, together with a very successful daily specials menu which features many local dishes including some beautifully prepared fish dishes. The beef is 28-day dry aged West Country beef and is cooked on a Josper charcoal grill; favourites from the grill include a West Country 8oz sticky Bourbon & brown sugar rib eye steak, a rack of Nailsea lamb with coriander & green chilli and a Creedy Carver chicken with lemon & thyme. The delicious desserts include a buttermilk panna cotta with apple & summer berries and a cherry clafoutis with cherry ripple ice cream - of course the ice cream is home made! For cheese lovers, there is a plate of West Country cheese with a Bramley apple chutney. In addition, there is a pre theatre/early dining menu available each evening from 5.30-6.45pm, and express lunches from Monday to Friday with a “build a board” concept. On Sundays, a traditional carvery is available.
The light and airy dining area has striking light features and mahogany furniture, with large windows that allow diners to look out over the water. The River Grille Bar is complete with a glossy finish and quirky white grand piano.
At the Centre of the city, the River Grille Restaurant is a 10 minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads station and right on the Narrow Quay Harbourside.
