If - as we had - you’ve arrived off the ferry in need of lunch, look no further. Genuinely freshly-made sandwiches were delicious, and there’s a terrace with bar stools overlooking the beautiful scenery.
We stopped here on our way home to Vancouver from Powell River. We had the Turkey/Brie Panini as well as the vegetable pea soup. So delicious. The soup came with some sourdough bread that was so good. We will make sure to stop and visit...here again when we are in the area!More
We happened on this place while walking through Gibsons. Looked like lots of locals and they know the place to be. The wait was a bit but the sandwiches, paninis, and coffees they serve are fresh and tasty. Great prices and everything is made to...go so you can find a spot on their deck or take it with you. Great find!More
It’s been awhile since we’ve been to the Black Bean ( Covid )
Went for the vegetarian breakfast sandwich. It was delicious. Fresh healthy ingredients. I took a cinnamon bun to go.... also, very good .
The young man behind the cash was very polite.... Best deal in town for a quick bite :)More
My buddy and I decided on a quick 'take out' sandwich lunch before heading to the ferry. I had had coffee there before and so we chose to get coffee and a couple of sandwiches. That was a very good idea, as the sandwiches were...super! I had the Turkey with cream cheese and cranberry sauce on a nice fresh whole wheat bread. It was great! My buddy has the panini version with brie. Also terrific. I would just suggest that you need some time. Two sandwiches and two coffees took 20 minutes. Worth the wait though.More
Three of us were looking for nice brekkies... and we found them!
With covid, the Cafe has had to adapt, and they have done a great job.
I had smoked salmon -- nice! Other meals were just as good I was told.
Coffee was great....Parking in summer, on weekends would be a big problem. But on a mid-September Monday, all masked up, we had no problems.
Weather was fine (but smokey) so we could eat outside. If you had to eat inside due to weather, it might be hard to get a seat.More
Great lunch here. Sandwiches are served on a seedy multigrain, nice and hearty. Roasted turkey was super tasty and tender. Clear COVID protocols, which also means that all sandwiches are now served as takeout, which is understandable though the waste hurts of course.
We stopped in for a latte and quick bite on our way back to the ferry, a delightful stop.
It is quaint, we sat out on the patio and enjoyed out lattes and a wonderful vegetable scone.
Everything looked wonderful and I will come back...again one day.
