Great food, great atmosphere and friendly service.. The Grilled Nyama Choma platter is my favorite. I am always running into people I know over hre and that adds to the experience.

Was here for a staff dinner party and the service was buffet with appies served family style. With a name like the James Street Cafe & Grill, you wouldn't expect the East Indian influence on the menu, but that's what is featured here. The food is Western-friendly (i.e. butter chicken) and tame enough for timid palates... I'm not sure they... More

This place is close to work so we dine here for business lunches, the food is pretty good, they have an interesting selection that has a spicy Indian character along with more mainstream items. They try hard to be kind of fancy, with linen tablecloths and a fireplace but the service can be kind of indifferent and on cold days... More

After many years of having work related trips to that neighbourhood, and a secondary home for years I finally discovered this fantastic restaurant with take out options. It is located on the North Side of Canada Way a few blocks W of Boundary Rd. and it has good parking, in a corner next to a mechanic garage, the parking lots... More

First time here and I enjoyed it very much. My father in law doesn't eat out much and it was his fave restaurant but he said the quality in meat went down as well as the spicyness of the food. I did not know, I enjoyed it and the staff were good too.

Convenient location with parking spots. Karaoke every Friday night! They have good Chai Tea if you are a fan of Chai. Daily special for good deals. Lamb curry and prawn curry are the best of the best!

This place has an impressive CLEAN look, food is just FANTASTIC and service tops it all. If you like eating Aromatic Indian Spicy food that is not going to burn your pallet , yet give your taste buds the enjoyment...I suggest you visit this place. Unfortunately "James Street Café" is a confusion...I thought it was some sort of English Café....until... More

My wife and I love coming to this place. The food is very tasty. My wife gets the Sunday chef's plate brunch special (not sure of the name). She doesn't like really spicy food but the flavour is great without being too spicy. We've tried numerous other dishes and consider this a hidden gem.

We hadn't visited this cafe all year, so it was time! On a chilly rainy damp Sunday after church, we dropped in and looked at the menu. Fortunately it hadn't changed. (you can never tell these days) We discovered this little restaurant on Canada Way near Smith Ave by accident around 5 years ago. It has a delicious Indian and... More

I was revolted by the sight of bloody and undercooked meat when I cut into the half chicken peppercorn special on my plate; serious risk of food poisioning. I returned the meal to the waiter who was at the counter at the time, with another man I later found out to be the owner. I accepted an alternative meal (butter... More
